Are you sick and tired of love teams in Pinoy movies?

I know I am. No offense to fans of these so-called matinee idols but I long for the time when we will have movies which are more unique and meaningful. It's so obvious that screenwriters today only have money on their minds that's why they only write about sappy love stories and boring cliched happy endings. I want to see new movie ideas! Who is with me?!

Hi there!!! I really hate sad endings..lolz...If i am also a screenwriter, i would rather create that kind of a movie that viewers would love.We could say it's so boring but why are there a hundred of people watching in theaters. Screenwriters are just after of what is good in people's taste.Money is there main goal and they don't care if some people get tired of watching that boring movies with their boring casts..hehehehe

Personally, I am not really that interested, so I don't have anything for or against our Pinoy love teams. I just watch TV soap shows just to pass the time, but not really become so attached to love teams and personalities involved. I see new and old faces on screen, and they are fine with me, no problem. I am more concerned about the economic and political crises the world is facing today. Watching movies and TV programs is for me a respite from the everyday worries of life, so I am not really sick and tired. I am a Filipino, and I am more drawn to our own Filipino movie industry. But I also watch foreign movies, and I have no problem about them, too. Perhaps it's my age or something....I used to feel that way when I was younger, but I am past that now.

I am with you. Why can't they minimize the number of love teams in the television series and dramas they are doing? Why not just focus on better genres like horror, suspense and comedy? I have nothing against love teams but they are worst than mushrooms when they became more and more dominant in the showbiz industry. They should be lessened because people get tired of watching the same stories over and over again about love teams.

Do you remember how they promoted the Robin Padilla and Ai-ai De Las Alas movie? Ai-ai acted as if she is still a teenager feeling gaga over Robin Padilla. And now that Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion teamed up in a project, they are now headlining whether these two feel in-love while doing the movie. These types of gimmicks made me puke and made me wonder how far our movie industry dove down to this level. And yes, our movies are very predictable. I don't think the screenwriters are solely to be blamed. The viewing public actually made the biggest mistake by supporting trash movies and television shows. Of course, there are also the movie producers and the directors. And the artists too for not choosing a good project.

I'm definitely with you on this one! I mean come on, when are we gonna see movies that revolves around a plot that's so enticing you'll never want the movie to end? I too am sick and tired of these so-called "box office hits". They're just poser films stuck in an era where people are still screaming for an encore. This is a wake up call to all Filipino writers! Make something that's worth watching!

I am with you in this matter. I have never seen meaningful movies nowadays. Most of the time what is offered are loveteam movies which are really making money. But in that way we lost that treasure for really good movies. There are some indie movies that still offer quality stories but these are hardly offer to the public. The only time we would only be informed is through news when something made it to the awards selection. I hope this helps.

come on guys! don't be so mean.. although, I don't watch anymore love team stories/movies..BUT, if ever i want to watch it, I really want to watch a different/unique twist, like why don't we include gore and more violence, like the movie "let the right one in" about a vampire falling inlove with a human (not twilight, ok, but can be included),^^ but MTRCB won't like it and some religous groups here in our home country.

pretty much very sick of them. there are a lot of artists in each stations so why not experiment and give these artists a chance. i really think they should try this because in other countries like in korea, japan, and taiwan there are really no permanent love teams. that maybe the reason why their dramas are very successful.

hi inkyubo, well for me i would rather still love happy endings rather than sad endings. i am not fanatic of matinee idols and with pretty faces artists. i after for the quality of the movie. And i don't believe on loveteams thing. One pinoy movie that i appreciated was the movie of john loyd cruz and sarah geronimo entitled "you changed my life". I know some of you won't agree on me but for me it is a very nice movie. a simple and common love story which really makes me laugh and so fondly called "kilig". honestly, i dont watch much of pinoy movies because sometimes they are just boring and i am used already with the stories and sometimes it is boring to watch but this movie really different. its so cute and funny. i am not fan of both sarah and john loyd but they really made a good combination on this movie.

If I wanted to watch more than the usual story that the local tv or movie industry can offer, I can always depend on foreign TV shows or movies to do just that. Not that Hollywood is not immune to the cliche, they also do remakes and now they are also turning into makin their own versions of Asian horror flicks, but they do come up and can satisfy the most bored and seen-it-all audience.

Yes, i feel the same way too.. I'm sick and tired of love teams in Philippine movies most especially the "remakes".. what the - - - -! =) it seems that scriptwriters run out of brilliant ideas to share with the audience.. yay! you know, they should paid less if that's the case! yay! scriptwriters should attend/undergo writing workshops or go back to school if needed.. you know, they are expected to be artistic/creative in writing good/sensible unique stories! but what are they doing?! they are just copying stories from other countries! and i see no effort for adding spices to make it kind of different, it doesn't work at all!

Hello inkyuboz! I actually stopped watching those telenovelas or soap operas. The story are actually very common. Talking about love teams, I don't really like any love teams today. They are charming (no doubt about it) but I don't know why but I really got lost interest with them.

Sadly I sometimes hate those kid of team ups, most of the actor and actress that are being teamed up are already known in their fields no question ask they're already good in doing the scenes. Actors and Actress should be teamed up by people that are not really known to test whether they're good in doings scene when their counter parts are not so well recognized by filipino people. One thing that I noticed in Philippine movies they are very predictable and most of the endings have no originality. No offense but that is the fact.. Do you agree or disagree? They should change the scripts and make it more unique.
