sometimes i feel to wear jeans, t-shirt of various styles and colors but as our college has restrict dress code system so i can't even wear that in college time. but in many colleges there is no restriction. i find one positive and one negative reason of it. positive reason is that its shows harmony, discipline and no one can show-off economic status negative aspect is that professional degree should have some freedom. students feel that they are compelled to study. what you people suggest is it good or bad?

It defenitely is good that they have introduced dress code.As you said no one can show off the economic strength. You go there to study then why dont you follow the discipline? Why should lawyers have the dress code ? Even they are professionals. What about policemen?

yes your logic is very much correct but every lawyers have dress code and every policemen have dress code but every engineering colleges don't have dress code some colleges follow some are not why so and what you will say about that?

i think its good, coz all students will look identical and also bad, coz we are not going to college to give presentation every day so,it would be like 'half week dress and another half week normal dress.

I have never been a fan of dress codes. I prefer to have comfortable clothes on me and to be required to wear a uniform in school is not so appealing to me. Cheers!!

that is much better than to wear a uniform. In the philippines, most of the colleges or universities are oblidging their students to wear uniforms. Its a mandatory, actually. No uniforms, no enter. In a university where I graduated, there's only one day where you can "dress down" but you still have to follow the dress code, or you cant enter inside the school. So, maybe, you can consider yourself lucky than we do.

yes there are colleges that allow casual wear for students. even i went to a college were we did not have a dress code. at times we felt that we were comfortable but at times we also felt that a dress code would have been better. after a few months we were given instruction to be in formals. in that case the jeans and t- shirts were not allowed any more. the biggest demrit not having a dress code is that the equlaity among the students in missing. as part of a team or group all must look alike. then students who belong to higer income group families tend to wear expensive clothes. those who don't wear such clothes are considered low standards and all that stuff. a student starts suffering mentally and this affect the education. when students don't have a particular dress code then their mind is always distrcted towards the dresses of others, specially this happens with girls. i believe, that if a student is really interested in learning then the 'dress code' or 'no dress code' sysytem would make no difference to the student.
