I've been using Ubuntu for a while now, and everything has been going quite smoothly. However, I apparently like playing around with different distros, so any suggestions for a different one to try?
I was thinking maybe Debian would be a good idea for a start, since it's quite similar to Ubuntu, but I'm open to any suggestions.
Thanks!

i found ubuntu a good distro for linux os..but if you want change may be debian or even mandriva will be suitable for you!!in the past i liked also distro like redhat, feodora and gentoo!!!Depends also from your need i always tought about redhat really suitable for business but it is not only that for this os..normally if you are starting in linux or like much consumer functionality i think ubuntu is good!!Seeing that you come from ubuntu you can consider also that if you want change debian it will be ok seeing ubuntu is based on debian roots so probably many things can be familiar to you passing to an os or other one!!

mmmhhh...you can try:
Debian, but is too hard for newbies...
try suse, mandriva, centos, fedora...
if you like distro light try puppy linux...
see www.distrowatch.com and see the screenshot of installation.

Try to use Slackware or you can try Knoppix.Cent OS is also a very good option as it is based on RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.0.

The new version of PClinuxos has been released.
I would say you should take it out for a spin.
I have been using it from last 2 years now and it does everything that I tell it to do, So it is very flexible that way.
Do give it a try and do let me know how it felt.
Take care.

I am also accustomed to ubuntu most, debian is similar to ubuntu but its GUI is not so beautiful to ubuntu..I have tried fedora and suse, suse 's GUI is more splendid but I am not accustomed to it.I am now using netbook,so I wanna try moblin linux which is developed by Intel.I think you can try all of such kind of linux which is strong-featured and promising.Good luck!
