Red tide, also known as harmful algal bloom, is a phenomenon that occurs when water algae or dinoflagellates suddenly increase and often discolor the water a deep reddish-brown hue. These organisms release toxic substances that are harmful or lethal to fish and other marine life, making them poisonous for human consumption. Whenever there is a red tide warning, refrain from eating fish, shellfish and other seafood from that area.

Well from what I know, Red tide is when these certain types of algae would bloom in certain parts of the seas and they would attached themselves to certain clams and fish in the seas making them poisonous for us humans. What causes this as many claims is the pollution that we put in the seas and also with the extreme summer heat they seem to flourish more.

well i only know that red tide comes from seafoods that have gone to deep sea waters that experienced low tides and high tides because of the typhoons that are carrying chemical wastes and that these chemical wastes gave mixed to the sea and that is how the seafoods got infected.
