Marathi New Year is on 27th March.Why don't we celebrate it as 1 january?

I think we should celebrate indian festivals only instead of celebrating days.... In indian culture there are various days which we can celebrate instead of western culture's.Some days are as: New Year= Padwa (For marathi people),Vishu (For keralians) Valentines day: Vasant panchami. Each Festival in India like Holi,Dashahara,Diwali,RakshaBandhan are celebrated for making our relations stronger with others...and keep healthy,Happy each person.
