Hunger makes any food tastier.

Longtime ago I had been very picky in having food and takes food only I likes. I used to have costlier food from bakery and fastfood occasionally. Recently, I had some financial problems and I was not able to have costlier foods and slowly when my pocket becomes empty, I realizes that when a person is hungry the food is very tasty. Have you ever felt that any food can be very tasty?

Well, I think that the reason any type of Food tastes better when you are Hungry is because at this time most people have gotten to the point that they are just about ready to eat anything. I know personally with the Economy sometimes many people have to settle for Foods they would maybe not eat otherwise just to help cut costs. That is why you have to learn to do what ever you can to help make your foods last longer as well.

I definitely think so too! When I am hungry, I tend to think everything tastes great. But when I am full, I don't even want to look at food *smiles*.

When we have lots of food we do not know the value of food. I also found out that I used to say less salt or more salt or less sugar or more sugar, etc, but now when I found I was really hungry, it does not matter at all and now I tries not to complaint about the food.

before i really love starving myself cause every food that goes into my mouth will just taste definitely better than when i am not hungry. so it kind of trick my taste buds to like the food more specially when i don't have the money to buy the food that i liked. specially when i am on a diet. i need only to choose the foods that are healthy though it does not that great but when i am hungry the taste becomes better and i get to like. but the problem is when i am full the taste of food becomes less palatable already or will just taste as it is.

I have found that out and know about that alot. But there is a few things I draw th line at eating no matter how hungry. Any type of seafood, besides tuna and weird food. I would rather go hungry first. Been there done that..But I have experienced that food taste better on a empty stomach.

I agree, I think it is true, everytime if I'm starving, even I eat fastfood, I feel they are delicious, tastes 10 times better when I am starving. I think it is because we have big desire for food when we are hungry, so once we eat food, the food pleases our stomach immediately that's why we feel it tastes better.

I can relate to that very well. When i do have the money to buy food i want, i feel like they aren't that tasty or yummy, but when your salary is almost over and you are very much anticipating for the next payout, you seem to imagine foods you want to buy, but you cannot because your financially challenged
These days foods get costlier and we seem to cut off things from our grocery list to buy the things we need most. Happy Mylotting!

Hello ajithlal,
Yes, that's really true. Sometimes, I missed a meal, I was extremely hungry and then whatever I ate would taste much more delicious than usual.
I had financial problems last year and always wanted to control my expenditures. At that time, I always felt that food becomes tasty. But I also felt sad when I was worrying about the cost of the food at first, after few months I felt better and knew we should treasure food regardless of its price.

I have an international tastebud. Meaning any food is good for me as I am a good eater. When my purse is full I have better choice of food but when it doesn't then I can take anything that promises to fill me up. I have fortunately trained myself to eat anything that is edible.

Of course it is. I had an experience when I was in my college. Hanging out with buddies across the jungle, and ran out of food. When the locals offered us some steamed corn, it did taste like heavenly food that I felt it was the best meal ever. So, I agree with this fact, equal with a glass of water in a desert will be more precious than anything in this world :-)

It's a known fact that fast food is heavily laden with MSG, an addictive ingredient. The real quality of the food is masked by this ingredient, which makes it easy for fast food producers to hide shoddy meat and chemicals.
In addition to this, not eating for an extended period of time heightens the taste of food because your body has more of a need for it. Any time that I fast I always find the taste of food is more intense; your senses are heightened during times of survival.

Yeah! It happens often when I'm on the road and I feel really hungry. I would eat even the foods that I avoid because of my diet - just to cure my hunger! Even a piece of bread would be as satisfying as cake when I'm hungry :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Ya this is the law of diminishing utility. When we are hungry or thirsty ,even the food which we are not very fond of eating tastes very delicious and tempting. But as soon as we have more of the food and our hunger is less then we will become very choosy and particular about the food .

Hi I have the same feeling but not for financial problems.About a month ago we some mountain bike fans rided to an old Chinese temple to see it's fresco with 200 years of history. We rided for 3 hours and we visted the temple .After we left the lunch time had past by ,we were all so hungery but unluckly there was no restaurant !! After half an hour we finally found a little one and waited for another half an hour just for a bowl of noodles! Egg spaghetti I can still remember , and I think it is the most delicious noodles in my life ! SO from then on I start to love noodles.lol
