Hi Friends,
My doubt is " can we change the entire Sea Water (Salty Water) into pure drinking water..." if yes then wat is the procedure and how many days it will take to convert.. Coz in future we will face the sarcity of drinking water.... if we convert the salty water in to drinking water then we can safe from scracity of water
Please post your responses detailed....

The fact is, entire sea water can be purified to a safe and drinking water. but the problem is the process and the result if these will come to reality.
It is possible to purify sea, i know some places that isolates fresh water and salty water in the sea. The process can be done through 4 different processes, Physical process, biological process, chemical process, and electro-magnetic radiation.
Physical process includes filtration from which water elements are segregated to other substances. other is sedimentation that tackles about purifying water through an external force.
Biological process such as slow sand filter is same as filtration but with some distinct differences, slow sand filter is done without any use of chemicals and electricity.
Chemical process which can be done is flocculation, a process where solute(other substance) comes out from a solution(water with other substance) in form of flakes. next is Chlorination, the most probable process to be done in treating the entire sea. Chlorination is done by adding chlorine in the water to make it safe for drinking and avoid spread of disease.
Last process can be done through electro-magnetic radiation, the ultraviolet germicidal irradiation is a sterilization method that uses ultraviolet light to break down micro-organisms. UV light is a mutagen which can cause the DNA of an organism to change, thus UV light can destroy nucleic acids of those micro-organisms making it safe to drink.
But the problem is, If we treat the entire sea to make it safer to drink. what would happen? There would be a great change in marine ecology, since salt in sea acts an important role in marine environment. some marine life cannot live in fresh water, and think of this, if we purify the entire sea to fed billions of people, do you think our planet will survive if water from seas and oceans are gone?
I hope my response make sense, Good day.
