What will you do to attract a girl that you like?

My friend have some problem with girls that he like, the girl is in the same office with him. He is too shy to talk to her. He is work as IT Staff and the girl at the Accounting department. Sometimes he just look at her from far. I don't know what to say to him so he can start to talk to the girl. I think this man has lack of confidence to talk with the girl. He just search the girl's information from his friend, from facebook, etc. Now he knows that the girl's hobbies are swimming and jogging and she likes dog. My friend is just the opposite with this girl, he don't like dog and his hobbies are play computer games. Can you suggest some way so my friend can attract this girl?
