Is anyone else sick to death over the state of our commercials? I'm embarrassed to watch tv with my kids, why is it that they can't advertise jeans or perfume without having half naked people rolling all over each other. Does s-x really sell clothing?

I agree with you. There are few family friendly tv shows on anymore, the commercials are almost the least of our worries. Afterall, things like csi and such were not on tv when i was a kid til 9pm, now they are on @ 7 when most kids are still up. Thank goodness for the net so I can watch some adult shows while the kids are asleep.

It's nice to know it isn't just me. I will never forget watching some darn rerun at 530 in the afternoon that ended up in my having to explain to my 7 year old son why a guy on the show was wearing women's clothing and had female parts. OMG, not exactly what I think a 7 year old needs to be informed about. And before anyone chimes in on how terrible I am for saying that I could care less what other people do with their lives but I still think I should have some say or warning before having my son ask why the guy on tv is wearing women's clothing and had female parts.

I totally agree. Have you ever watched Family Guy? My hubby thinks it's appropriate and I do not like it whatsoever; for adult viewing is one thing but in time frames when kids are up NO. I swear people made such a fuss over SouthPark, but man most of their episodes are pretty tame compared to Family Guy. And what because it's a cartoon it automatically makes it ok to use explicit adult themes?
And if you've ever heard the theme song... "where are those good ol' fashioned values?..." NOT ON THAT SHOW!
