Pure communism is the abolition of private ownership and everything is run by the state. Ideally it is a classless society and everyone is equal.
Unfortunately human beings do not function well in a pure communist society. People will not work properly in the collective farms and factories because they still get a share whether they work hard or not. The leaders when they get a bit of power become the elete, not what should happen in a classless society. , and the rulers they tend to hog valuable resources for themselves. So between the power corruption, finanacial corruption, human corruption and greed, communism in its purest form does not work. Most present day so called communist countries are just dictatorships.
In most western countries, there are communist processes like the public ownership of roads and frequently city buses. A lot of the infrastructure is communist, like the water and sewer system. We do not label them communist however.
The worst thing about communism in its purest form is the abolition of private property. That is why westerners do not like communism plus the fact that communist countries are nothing more than brutal dictatorships.

I am not a western people, but let me say loudly that I hate Marxism.... I am an Indian and have seen Marxism closely. It is good if you are saying something or for that matter writing something....It is hard to defeat intellectually a Marxist...But the fact of the matter is Marxism is a failed theory, a lapsed doctrine...
In your country, it is still there and there is no doubt that it is a success...but I think its all because of your economy...as you know there is nothing like marxism in your economy....
In a nutshell, Marxism is not pragmatic....even if the world is reeling under the financial crisis, it is still better than adopting Marxism.....In my country Marxist are nothing different from terrorists...to further their ideology they kill innocents.....

Marxism, firstly did not originate with Karl Marx. He just compiled those in a orderly way. Marx hardly worked for his living. But he never suggested those ideas or share it with world.
My answers are sometimes way off the mark. Dont feel bad, but that is how marx was.
I am not a supporter of his ideas, as those were never implemented anywhere. Just look around you will trust my words.

Well, Marxism is a kind of theory created by people. It is a kind of belief held by many people. It is hard to tell it is wrong or not. I would like to rate it in a much more open-minded way. Since it does exist in this world, I believer there must be some reasons for this. Some of the points in Marxism is really reasonable to explain our daily life. It can solve some of the questions that confuse us. So even people who believe in God can still love to learn Marxism. Cheers.

As far as i know, marxism is actually the conflict theory in terms of the rich and poor, the powerful and helpless. the struggle between them makes conflict that could make change. As karl marx wants communism to have equality to avoid those struggle, in that way, there will be no rich and poor, no powerful and helpless, all have the same status in life.

I think Karl Marx is a very great man. His theory have made a great affect on our world, even the Capitalism adopted some ideas from Marxism. There are too many misunderstandings to Marxism.
If Marxism had never been created, our world would have been even worse.
