We are here so many of us. Have made friends with more than hundreds. but just fancy what if one day any of us leave this world without prior notification? I mean dead. This hit my idle brain as I was forced to be away mylot and please do not ask what tryst I did not undergo all these five odd days.
This evening when I signed in I saw some private eagernesses and felt a sort of dill draining through my backbone to the hip bone. It was " What if I were dead?" And the message would never be answered back by me. And my friend and those who really cared for me would miss me for the rest of life without knowing where I vanished,
So I have told my wife to put a notification in case I am dead. I have given her my username and passwords too.
Have you done yet?

Very realistic thought. I have not thought of this. Scary but it's reality. You do have good though and planning and makes us all think and want to put a plan into action just in case. u never know.
Thats why there was something that was bothering me 2 weeks ago I felt I had to do what i needed to just in case something happened to me god for bid. I didn't want to have to go and not be able to say what I need to say to my brothers ex girlfriend that was taking advantage of him I couldnt take it any more I had to stop it. I wrote a letter to tell her how I felt about the situation. I need to get it off my chest.
So it dose make you think god forbid anything happened.

No problem It was a good discussion topic that makes you think. I would like my friends to know if something happened also.

Every thing in this world is uncertain...I find no reason to bother such thoughts...
We mustn't about things we dont have control over...
Even I used to have such thoughts many times, and what I have learned over time is never worry about all this, and if possible dont let mind think this way even ...
This is what I feel, and what I think is right...

Hi krajibg, No, that is something that I haven't thought of doing but I must admit that it is a good idea. I've been here for quite awhile and do have some good friends here. I've also seen some friends just disappear and have wondered about them. Blessings

Hi krajibg! I feel the same way! I do know that there would
be a few people that would wonder where I had disappeared to
and I have absolutely nobody to help me in the case that
something did happen to me! I really don't have any of my
friends that would be able to log on here to tell my friends
what happened to me so my friends here would never know! Most
of my friends are not real computer savy! I do have one person
who is my computer tech, but I don't know if I could count
on him or not! I would first need someone to notify him! Most
of my friends don't know each other and that would also create
another problem!

Is it really so? Why? Do not have a real friend who you could confide in? Just think about us, what would it feel if you were no more here to flash really nice thought and the person, may be a virtual one but your real entity is there and hence this bond is there or we can not expect to make friends with Rock and Sea.

Hi Rajib and welcome back!...I have not been on as much myself but will try harder.
You said this idea hit your idle brain? My dear friend, this discussion alone shows that your brain is anything but idle..You are always thinking of something.
You are right. We have many friends of which some would wonder where we went if we were gone.
What you have chosen to do is most thoughtful. It would save a lot of wondering and worrying. I think its a great idea!
Now, I hope you dont plan on leaving us any too soon or you will be in big trouble from me!...I too was wondering where you were at but thought maybe I had just missed conversations as I have not been on steadily either.
Thanks for a wonderful suggestion!
See...I am being nice today!..

sob, sob I am not leaving back so lovely and caring people like you Sandy. As I was forced out on my PC for all these days was thinking about you and many others with whom sort of unseen and unknown bond has glued already would be thinking about me a person who was so regular suddenly dropped the wing? And hence my idle brain chisel out that thought. Oh, know what I though you have already crossed 800

I keep putting it off It's something that is gong to happen to us all whether we like the idea or not. One day we are not going to be here.
I have offline things all organised and my son will take of them but online, so far, I have not done likewise.
I have online friends who are also in contact offline and when the day comes they will know and would probably inform others as to why I disappeared but they do not have access to passwords - no-one does. I really must sort this out too
Hope it's going to be later rather than sooner happening but we just do nor know when it will be.....

I have made a list of all my accounts and passwords so that my relative can notify those that I interact with. I haven't heard from a myLot friend of mine in India for quite some time and I am very concerned about her, given the unrest and terrorism there recently.

hehe, my children know my username and password as well. Had remembered an on line friend from Singapore in other social networking site, yuwie, we his friends were wondering of his sudden disappearance, continuously we sent him comments wishing him well, other friends comfort us by thinking he's just on vacation. After a month, however the sad news came, he passed a way after a week of his last day of signing in. His cousin had to signed up after reading his diary where he stated he enjoyed much having his loving friends at that site. We're very grateful to his cousin for joining that site just to let us know of what happened. Though his an online friend we haven't seen yet, we grieved for him that much as well.

Yeah, the same thing happened with me too. In another site IBIBO we were good friends but one day he suddenly passed away and another friend from Kolkata got this news ans spread over the IBIBO and even the admin of IBIBO wrote a blog a an obituary.
So this is necessary.

Yes. I keep things written down and in our lock files so that if people need to know things when we die they are able to get to them. I think it's wise for people to make sure they have things in order, and things in a set up that makes it easy for those doing the work to find them.
I often worry about my own mother and if she's got things set up so we can take care of her things when she is gone.

hi dada
well, i don't dare to talk about such things with people close to me... because once i say i would be scolded. even i thought of this thing once and then created a word document and also copied it on my pen drive. wondering what this file is all about...? it is a list of some 4-5 phone numbers.... a list of people who should be informed when i die... well, recently i added your number to that list... hhehe...
