I think it should have been canceled altogether, but then, how can you handle something like greed...Why should government take risk when something is happening with keeping all ethics on hold. IPL is nothing but a shameless act of extravaganza...If BCCI would have been serious about the game then they would have also supported the ICL...this is not happening and the result is what we are seeing....
However, relocation is really a bad news for India and the Indian Economy as a small stimulus has been left bypassed........

What ethics are you talking about? The only reason ipl is going out of the country is because some people do not have ethics and have mixed sport with politics. Canceling it altogether would have resulted in a lot of disappointment among the fans. And on the matter of greed the bcci wont make any profit this year and though it ir an extravaganza it produces quality cricket whereas icl is a different issue altogether. And what is ones loss is anothers gain so the south african board will get some revenue which they really need.

Iam happy that it is moved... securitys really important. International players need VIP like security and with the elections I dont really think it would be suitable to have it in India. Better to be safe that sorry. The other choice was to cancel it all together... but this would never happen as BCCI would loose a lot of revenue.

We all know that ipl2 in india was a foregone conclusion what remained to be seen was where it will be played. The bcci have obviously gone for the cheaper and logical option considering the rain factor in england. Plus we have already seen one 20-20 tournament do very well in south africa lets hope this one is a sucess as well.

It's quite clear now T20 cricket is not a sporting event for which the nation should go crazy, it's just another commercial venture which the organizers want to force down our necks. If the IPL really wants to promote the game it does not matter where or when the tournament is played, it seems they are more interested in selling rights and making profits. In any business there are bound to be risks, the IPL should learn to respect Nations priority first before their own interests.
Life can carry on without a season of cricket, but certainly not at cost of democracy.
I respect the Govt. concern for security in troubled times of terrorism.
