What is the specs of your computer and what operating system did you use? If your computer has never been running slow before, then there is something you did or someone has used your computer that causes your computer to run slowly. Uninstall programs that is incompatible to your system or causes your pc to hang. Use Tune-Up Utilities or Any maintenance softwares for your windows operating system. It has features in defraging your hard disk, cleaning up your temporary files and etc.
Install anti-virus, update and scan your computer. Install firewall and internet security for adding more security in your computer. If these steps does not able to help to run faster your computer, you might as well reformat your hard disk and reinstall your windows operating system.

It is available mininova.org. You can download the softwares there using a torrent down loader. If you got 1 Gig ram then your OS is really running slow because normally 1 G ram run much faster during word processing or any other office programs. You should defrag your hard disk drive and do not select unnecessary start up programs to make your system start up respond much faster. Or email me and I could send the software to your email. jbcom.services@gmail.com

YEs,Sandvi i can help you.Your computer hangs due to software problems and the best is now you should format it.If you know formatting you can own format your system and if you don't know then call the computer mechanic.
i too faced this same problem,i used many antivirus but of no use,i deleted all the unnecessary + necessary data but of no use and lastly i formatted my system and now it working well.
"So,its software problem and you just format it"

The first thing you could do is check your computer memory. If you don't have enough "free" memory anymore then maybe that's the reason why your computer is hanging. Also, you need to check the programs that are installed and the ones that are running in the background. Maybe these programs are clogging up your computers memory. Finally, you could check for viruses or spywares or even malwares in your system. A good way to check these is to install an security software while your computer is in safe mode and not connected to the internet. These security softwares are designed to detect and eliminate these so called threats.

I dont know the actual problem of your computer, but some times if the over heated, then the computer may hang and may restart with out any reason. You can use a software named "SPEED FAN". This is really good software and here you can check your pc temperature.

Go to task manager and close the unnecessary application or use "msconfig" command and checked off the useless application from your desktop start up. If your computer connected to internet then plz scan your computer by any good anitivirus and anti spy ware.

Hi sandvi.
this discussion is very timely. although, it's not that my computer hanged up on me now, but I am downloading something, and it hanged. it stopped, but it is not yet done downloading. I am just at 53% of if. anyway, I'm sleepy now so I might just close it.
Since you are in the office, maybe you can ask the IT person for help. but if you don't have an IT person in your office, try freeing up some space. sometimes, files especially the big ones will slow down your computer.
good luck
take care
