How long have you been using a computer? I have been using a computer since the DOS days, before computers had a hard drive and 64k of memory was considered a lot of memory. Not to try to date myself, but it has been a long time.

Well, I guess I will date myself even more than you. I took a course in college and used a computer that used punch cards and the computer took up most of a very large room and only was at most 64K I think, I don't remember for sure. You would "type" up the punch cards on a special machine and then feed them into another machine for compiling which would turn your twenty or so cards into to a very large stack that was in machine language. There were no monitors and everything took a long time.

I remember seeing those punch cards. I also remember the removable drives that the had at the college I was attending. The disk platter was the size of a 33 record. Remember those?

i have used the computer from the Windows 98 days, I think, and now, the VISTA came out. But i still like xp, because it's easy to process, and will not use so much space of memory bank as vista system

Yeah, Vista is the ME of today. (Me was the operating system before XP that was a flop for Microsoft.)

I believe I too have been using computers for a very long time now. The only way to type documents is to use Wordstar. Also, games are stored in large floppy discs that are thin and square in shape. Popular games from that time were Frogger and Prince of Persia.

I have been using computer for long time now, like you, since the DOS days. Now, i just can't carry out any of my work without a computer. I have to carry a laptop along too when I travel. Just indispensable !

It is hard to imagine life without a computer now. What did our grandparents do for fun?

I have been using computers since the Siclair ZX81, which I got for Christmas, not sure of the year and use to spend hours typing in programs to see a black and white game play (if I was Lucky), and I was one of the lucky ones at the time because I also had the upgrade to 16k.

As far I can remember my first usage in computer was last 1993 or 1994, It was Windows 3.1 Operating system. Its monitor was black and white. It was very old and outdated at that time even it was my first pc to use that my school owned. There were less to do with that computer and not very interesting and entertaining to use.

I have been using the computers for about 16 years. But in those days, the access of computers are very limited to us, as these are highly expensive one. It is very hard to access the computers for more than 2 or 3 times in our college. But on seeing the blue or black screen , I stated to hate the computer, as I don't know any thing about dos prompt. But nowadays, as the technology is continuously improving, we have to learn more and more to survive. I also learned lot of things within these years.
