we need your help in naming our new kitty. She is maybe four months old with big round eyes. She is very cute and sweet. She loves to purrrrrr. She is black with a lot of yellow and brown on her, like you were painting and dropped some paint on her here and there. I think that she is very smart. Any idea what we should name her?

I like your suggestion, especially since i have always like the painting of Monet, one of the greatest of the impressionist painters.

We've had cats named Mysti, Shakti (we still have him) and Milo, and we are thinking of getting a little orance kitten, and naming her Phoenix.

I love cats also. They give us love and a lot of friendship that people often deny to us.

I'd come up with something like "Turtle" because the coloration that you describe is called "tortoise shell". I had one like that several years ago who was a total sweetheart. Unfortunately she decided to argue with a car and lost one night. The same thing her mother had a couple of years earlier.

We have a habit of naming our pets in a very funny way. Our cat is called "daga" which is the Filipino word for "mouse" and we had a pug named Kitty. Right now we also have a dog named Squidball (I think you know what that means, but in case you don't, it's food :P). So what about calling her Blot because she looks like a panting? Or call her Chee-chee (the description kind of reminder of me the character in Cheetos). Or call her Whity... exactly because she isn't white :D
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

She sounds very cute. From your description she sounds like a tortise shell colored cat, of the calico family. These cats are always female, there are never any male calico or torti cats born. The best way to name a cat is to just sit and watch her. It has taken me as long as 6 months to name a pet. One of my dogs name was Digger, he loved to dig in the sofa cushions. One cat was named Spitz, because her favorite thing was hissing and spitting, not a nice cat but we grew to love her. Oliver got his name beacuse he was the runt of 4 bottle fed kitten orphans and after feedings he would always cry for more, Oliver Twist. His brother Chunky, because of his huge size, turned into chunky monkey, turned into Monkey. So I always take my time. If I had to name her without knowing her, I might consider Picaso, Monet, Remi (Rembrant)because of your description of her colors. Good Luck!

Hi Thanks so much for your interesting stories about your cats. Reading what you and other people here have to say about cats make me think that there are some good people left in the world, since most good people love animals. i agree with you. It is best to take your time when naming a cat, since each cat is so different with their own unique personality.
