I am 11 weeks pregnant and bought a digital fetal doppler like the doctors use in the office. I really love it, I listen to my baby every day! I am just trying to figure out why the doppler will get a steady heart rate of 176 bpm but then the baby will move and it will then at times get a steady reading of 235 bpm. I can't tell if it is even one single heart beat because it is so fast! Is this anything to worry about or do I just not know what I am doing? I go back to the doc 4/2/09. thanks

There were 2 reasons why I never got a doppler with my sons. #1 reason being is that I have heard that they dont work properly, and they are very expensive. And #2, I knew that I would be compulsive about it and if I ever couldnt find the heart beat or it was too fast or too slow I would be freaking out about it. If you are only 11 weeks pregnant I would definately not be worrying about that just yet. Wait for the doc to do a more accurate test with their machines so it will put your mind at ease. Good luck with your pregnancy! :)

Thanks for your response, they are pretty expensive, I paid $120 for this one but it works great! lol. It is the same one they use at my doctors office, im just not a doctor! haha. so im not sure what the different things mean. Being I am able to feel my baby I know where I can locate the heart beat though it will turn to where I can't pick it up I move to make the baby move until I am able to hear it. But I do understand what you are saying. Thanks for the post;)
