Is it good that Philippines would be colonized by America???

Advantages, well I guess its everybody's dream that we want to become American Citizens and enjoy the benefits each citizens enjoys right now in that country. With the might of their military they might be able to finally solve the current rebellion happening in Mindanao as they would have total control of everything already. With regards to disadvantage, I think right now with their economic recession they are experiencing I would not want to be involve with them and primarily what US would be doing in our country is also extract all possible wealth our land can offer just to compensate for losses they are experiencing right now. With them colonizing our land would mean the US citizen could easily buy lands from us making us third class citizen of this land and again would just mean that we would be sacrificing the ownership that we own before and now givcing that right up with the US citizens. Those are just my few opinion about that.

In my opinion it would be advantageous for us to be colonized by the US. One of the many benefits would be our economy. Our economy would be governed by people who are far more competent than those who are running this country.

the advantages would be is that Philippines i am sure of it would enjoying an economic stability reagardless of this recession now adays, Filipinos would not be number three in the list in the of TNT people in Us who are illegals by citizenships, that the Filipinos would be one of the reaches people and dominating Philippines(joke)..The most advantage would be is that the Filipinos are enlightened on why they should have the Philippines in their own hands..."THE PHILIPPINES WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT AMERICA" the disadvantage would be is that it teaches lots of corrupt leaders who mostly likely to goverb philippines.... no idea with this stuff in general but what i know is that AMERICA shouldnt be linked to PHILIPPINES!

Aren't we already colonized by the Americans long before? Though it was a short period of time after America won against Japan, World War II that is.. So like at this time, we have the mentality and still living at some customs that American does.. We are like the only South East Asian country that can speak good in English, and that's one of it. We, and we must admit that we enjoy the goodies of America, food, clothes, and stuff.. There are a lot more to this list. I think it would be better if we focus more with the good things what America have shared to our country.

I think that most Filipinos would be against it. And democracy is something that Filipinos hold dear. Didn't we just throw them out at the base in Olongapo? (correct me if I am wrong... I am not so strong with the details?) And I think the American government has enough on its plate now? Even Obama has not entertained GMA when she was visiting the US. Asking for the advantages, there would be many I guess. It may really benefit us if the finances of the country was under new hands (Maybe there would be less corruption?? If that is even possible for Filipinos... The main disadvantage is the freedom we may lose... Just my thoughts...

I would love to respond on this topic and lectures you with all the disadvantage it can give to us and how will our ancestors would react by the mere thought of it, but since this is not the right place for this. I will keep my fingers off my keyboard.. surely, you are not reading your history books..

With the current economical state of America, it could probably make it worse.. But before, I definitely agree coz that's our last chance.. Imagine the growth of the jobs when America outsourced Call Center companies here. If we will be colonized, there's a lot more to come..
