Are you a religious person?

I am a spiritual person which is different from religious, I don't accept wholeheartedly everything in any religion because it was constructed by man. I believe in the presence of God and that God is the same God for all humankind. I too take what I like from different religions.

Hi subha, I have faith but I am not religious in the sense of being active in any services or religious activities...I believed also it is more important to be a good person!

I believe alot like you do..if you have faith or belief you have a tendency to be a better person. Some people that faithfully go to church are really not as christain as they believe they are....when they walk out of church they are not nice people!

I am a religious person but I am not a blind beleiver of religion. I think We should all have faith in the supreme power and that can be in any form. THe beleif itself is important rather thwn whom you beleive.

I am not religious. I tend to actively avoid organized religion. Human nature has a tenancy to corrupt and bend religions to selfish ends. No religion is exempt from this. Instead I follow a Path. I adhere to its ancient policies which include thinking and questioning all aspects of the Path and Life itself.

Frankly speaking I am not inclined towards any particular religion. Nor I do worship God in ant form but ironically I can not say I am not a religious person. Say for example, I live in a society and the society has a set of norms and values and ethics and morality and all and these are regarded secret things and we follow them without knowing that we are doing so. As the above quoted things are what makes religion in one way or the other I am a religions person in the manifestation. If we narrow them say one particular ritual you do not follow and this would not mark you as an irreligious person. Hence in the border sense we all are religious and there does not come the question of one's being non - religious.

I do believe in Religion and being Religious. I consider myself a religious person... and I think this to be a positive thing.

Well, i can say I'm religious. And yeah i too believe in being a good human being, with the instructions of God....

I am also pretty much religious person. I also respect other religions too. I believe every religion has different names but only one motive "peace"

Religious sounds so conformed. I'm a spritual person, I believe in Jesus but its more about a relationship than a religion. There are good points of all religions but just being good isn't enough.

I am not so a religious kind of person but I do believe in God.Being a good human being and serving our fellow human beings is like doing service for God.Some people are there in life, who pretend to be very religious for the sake of religion and society, but in real life they are not.I hate such hypocrites.

I am not a religious person but I have faith and I really believe in God. Before I don't go to church always and I don't pray before meals. But since I married a man whose family is a religious one I started to learn to pray before meal and I always go now every sunday. But I believe that you don't have to be a religious one to be loved by God. I know it's okay to him if you have faith in him and you believe in the power of the holy spirit. I have met different kinds of persons with different religions and even though I am not agree with the thing that they believe in I just listen to them and I just don't comment because I believe respect begets respect.

Yes, I consider myself as a religious person. I mean by being religious, be loyal and think about God when I am doing anything in my life.Then I cant do anything wrong.If you are thinking that 'God Is Watching', then how can we go in the wrong way?How can we be rude with others?How can we cheat others.Even if you are alone, there is the eyes of God upon you. I beleive that It is not the rituals one do,that makes him/here a religious person, but the attittude towards life makes him/her religious.Because I have seen many people who pray 5 times a day doing a lot of evil things in their personal and social life.I have seen many people who is attached with temple or church behaving so rudely to others.Then what they mean by their rituals and prayers?I think they just use it as a mask. In my opinion, serving people is as important as rituals and prayers to a real religious person. Thanks

I will not say i am a religous person. In my country, most of the old people that i know they believe in Budda, so they are vegetarian. and they believe that if you do good things in this life, you will get reward for your next life, or we call eternity. If you do some bad things, revenge will come to you sooner or later. I am not a vegetarian, but i do believe in some of Budda's saying, i always trying to be a good person, nice to people, help those people who needs help. Some i won't say i am strict religious, but i do believe in some of it.

I am very pious and pray everyday to the God I have been trained to pray since my childhood. I believe in all the things that my religion says. I just think that it is a great religion with ancient values which has all the answers to the problems in our life. I can understand It is so deep and extraordinarily meaningful. Now does this make me a religious person Deepak?

I do not follow religion blindly. I believe in all God. I do believe that there is a superior power or more power in this world, which helps us when we needs and do care for us and do love for us. I never believe that God love violence. I do believe that all Gods love us and wants us to love each other and want to make each other happy.

i am not a religious person but more of a spiritual person.religion is a culture, it is a belief and that belief is useless if you do not make use of the teaching or its rules. being spiritual is taking action and being good and practicing what you believe in. going to church every sunday does not mean that you are a good christian ,most of these people just go to church because it is a must , a task to perform and a norm. practicing good deeds is another story, being spiritual.

well yes.. i am... and you should be also... try to believe in GOD the one and only... who created everything.. out of nothing...

I think I'm a religious person. I am sensitive on how other people view their faiths when we're clearly under the same Church. I think that people should know what their faiths are especially if they claim to be a member a specific Church. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Didn't you know??? God doesn't belong to any religion either. Truth be told. No religion understands God. I also find it funny that those who go look for God always get someone else to help them find God. Remember, God will always add up. If it doesn't add up, it's man or you just do not understand God. God is unconditional love. Everything else is just a lesson for some to learn.
