Killing your own parents !!

Hi, Today I came across an article in newspaper where a girl killed her parents and younger brother as they were opposing her relationship with a married man. How can one go to a limit of killing someone who has brough him/her to this world. Didnt she realize any moments where her father/ mother would have loved at any point of time. Do people become so selfish and self centric where they think about themselves and go upto killing their own parents. Hatred can be verbal but to this extent is not possible. I pray to God to guide todays youngsters. Is it common ? Not for me atleast..
