Hi. I get fed up reading post after post on ptc sites. I just topped up the fuel in my car (90p a litre - that's $1.31 for a coke bottle full!) Last night, food for my family set me back the equivalent of $25 for 2 day's worth.
So, for those of us living in the 'real world' - there ARE ways to earn sensible money working from home. It's taken a while to get there, and it's still very hit-and-miss, but I'm seeing decent results from all the surveys I'm doing. I've just been sent the details of a Saros panel taking place in London - £50 for half a day's work!Last week, I completed an Ipsos mobile phone study for £5.
If you want 'reliable' cash, then doing ptc and coming here are certainly options - but once you've done a few surveys you'll see a time algorithm forming. i.e. in the time it takes to earn $10 here, you'll have spent a lot less time earning the same amount elsewhere. You have to take the rough with the smooth to begin with; no one gets the decent paid stuff till the panels are sure you're making an effort on the less lucrative ones.
I got most of my work by joining Survey Pro UK. If you need links or more details on legit surveys for UK residents - PM me (send a friend request if you're not on my list)
If you're not in the UK I can still post the links, although I'm not sure if they'll be any good to you. All the sites I deal with are sited either in the USA or the UK, with a couple in Australia and N.Europe.

Try Survey Head - I'm not sure if they recruit where you are, but I'm doing quite well there. Also Toluna and Lightspeed (although they pay in points that are converted to paypal cash) are both fun and pretty universal. Things like short surveys on 'do you smoke?' can be answered by anyone.
Word of advice, though - if you don't have kids, dogs, and an extended family - make one up!

Would be interested in hearing more...I use various survey sites too and been paid several times (blog link on my profile page has payment proofs)
It's just something I do in my spare time, I somehow always miss those well paying ones due to the times they're scheduled, like in working hours or shortly after..a friend recently sent me one for £145 for Microsoft but couldn't go as had to work then pick my tot afterwards..
Which other sites are you using besides Ipsos?
