Do you think lighter or the darker shades of eyeshadow highlight your eyes? I used to always use a lighter color.....now I am using a darker shadow and I think I like it better. I wear glasses and with the darker I think it draws more attention to my eyes. What do you prefer? Do you think lighter or darker shadow draws more attention to the eyes?

I've got really dark brown eyes (I get them from my Dad's side) so I've always wore a medium dark shadow on the lower part of the eyelid and a lighter shade on the crease and slightly above the crease of the eyelid. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

It depends on what look you want. Darker gives a more sultry almost seductive look and can draw attention toward your eyes. Darker also makes your eyes look smaller. Lighter shades can make them appear bigger and brighter-more innocent. It really depends on your outfit. I would wear both at different times for variety. If you get too much dark you look like like you're trying too hard and if you wear too much lighter shades you look like you're trying to be too young. I prefer darker shades but that is only because I have dark hair and eyes. I wear a really light cream shade sometimes almost like an eyeliner to add effect-it is shimmerey and gives me a really different kind of look which I like a lot. If I were you I would experiment.

I don't wear eye shadow but in the past I have used lighter colors. I'm a blonde, with fair skin and blue eyes so anything dark might make me look like a clown. I wear contact lenses most of the time but am having a problem right now so am back to glasses. Most eye products bother my eyes when wearing contacts even the products that are specifically made with the contact lens wearer in mind.

I'm not a heavy make up user.. i prefer using light eyeshadows.. but it depends.. if i needed to attend an evening party then i'd wear darker shade and when it's a morning party then i'd wear something lighter.. on ordinary days, i don't wear eyeshadow and other eye make ups such as eyeliner and mascara.. i just put maybelline face powder, cheek and tint and lip balm(chapstick).. that's it! the more natural, the better.. =)

Both. I always matched the shade of my eye shadow with my dress and to the place where i would be going. It is very important to consider such factors in wearing make-ups. Also you should check the shape and size of your eyes. If it is small. big or chinky. Other thing to consider is your lipstick. From what i read in a magazine if your lipstick is thick and full enough you should not wear too much eyeshadow. It is better if you wear a lighter shades. =) But if you will ask me about my eye shadow in my ordinary days i would have a lighter shade of eyeshadow so that it will looks natural on me.

i think it really depends on the exact colours of your eyes in relation to your skin tones/hair colours. on beauty website you can look up the colour charts and see which colours will complement you look best. i also wear glasses and sometimes have the issue that my eyes aren't as bold as i which they could be, so i tend to also use eyelines and lots of mascara to really make them pop!!

I use lighter eye shadow on my eyes during day time to make my make-up look natural... while at night, I use a darker eye shadow for a more dramatic look

I like both light and dark eyeshadow. I most wear the colors depending on my mood. When I where my glasses I put on very subtle eyeshadow. At the moment I wear dark eyeshadow because I can not find a new job as easily as I used to.

I'd have to say darker eye shadow. I already have a light skin color, as well as light eye color, which is probably why I think that darker eye shadow suits me better. I really don't like looking pale and sick, when I'm not actually sick.

Well, you know from what I have been told a little of both. And as we get older we are not supose to use eye linner all the way on bottom of eye just half way. or something like that. I don't wear makeup. And when I do it is on and off that fast. I always rub my eyes and it ends up everywhere on my face. Was never a make up person. Your friend onlydia

It all depends on what eye colour you have to what brings your ey's out even more. I use a white/silver eye-shadow or sometimes a blue-ish colour and then I like my ey's with a black liquid eyeliner. Sounds awful but it looks nice. I also use a white eye pencil on the inside of my eye as I think this drawers attention to your eyes as well. I have blue/grey eye colour.

Hi, jillhill! I don't wear eye shadow. But, if I was to, I would choose both shades. It just would be based on what I am wearing for that day. I will make a decision by the color of my clothing.

I tend to wear lighter eyeshadow, well I wear browns all the time. I've been considering getting a little bolder and wearing darker colored ones because I wear glasses too and its hard to see my eyes, and I think they are my best feature. I seen this lady one time wearing a blue or dark grey colored eyeshadow and it looked good on her, it brought her eyes out real pretty, her eyes were brown like mine, and I wondered if it would work for me, I might have to try it sometime.

Hey jill! I use a lighter eyeshadow and a darker shadow! I use a beige first and then I use a black liner. I use a brown shadow in the crease corner of the lid to highlight the eye! I read online yesterday that people with brown eyes should use blue eyeliner and ligher shadow to bring out the flecks in their eyes. I used to wear blue shadow years ago. Don't think I would like that on me now!

darker one at nioght I think. I changed to transitional lens a few years ago and as I live in the sun, it was worth every expensive penny. They go dark in light and adjust to the light so guess what, lazy me has stopped wearing eye shadow to work as no one can see if I am wearing iot or lnot. Oh, I am so lazy! Blessings
