Did you know that simple cold can make your baby mute.
Cold are cause by viruses, but when a child gets cold his/her ear canal gets narrowed due to swelling of its lining. Presence of bacteria is always in the ear canal or the eustachian tube. Sometimes when a cold clears up, some fluids left in the child's middle ear. This situation can impair your child's hearing. This condition is called Otitis media with effusion. Children under three years old need a special attention, because at this age hearing is a crucial stage where your child develop his language skills. Otitis media with effusion leaves no signs of fever, pain and other signs of infection. This middle ear fluid can cause hearing impair either continuously or periodicaly. Talk your doctor when your child gets cold about Otitis media with effusion. Always on alarm when your child's under six.

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't be too worried about this my children had several ear infections when they were young and they can both hear fine.
