bathing suit or shorts when you are swimming? which do you prefer?

Here in the Philippines, it is very common for ladies to wear shorts and t-shirt when they go swimming specially in the provinces but in big cities ladies are more westernize. They use bathing suit. For me? I preferred to wear short and shirt because I am not use to display my body... hahahaha.. we are not use to that. what ca you say, Filipino mylotters?

Well I guess it has somwthing to do w/ cultural backgrounds and practices. Most conservative people usually wear just shirts and shorts for swimming but for those exposed ones, they really go for swim suits as it's designed for swimming and they don't think of anything wrong about it.
For me, it depends; if am in the ordinary beach like the ones in the province then I would go for shorts/shirts but if am swimming in exclusive beaches where people are wearing different kinds of swim wear then I would go for that. I just don't want to be out-of-place.

hahah!! that's right too. If you are around people who are wearing same thing it is not awkward to do the same because no body will look at you in a different way. People don't care because that is what they are used to.

I suppose if I had a better body I would wear a bathing suit. Most of the time I spend at the pool or the beach is with my family. For modesty and decency sake all of the women wear shorts and a t-shirt since we are all swimming with young boys and other women's husbands.

Oh wow!! I bet, you are a Filipina.. because ladies in western countries don;t care even if whoever is around, they will use bathing suit 2 piece.. hahahah

Well, I'm not from the Phillipines, but i do have an opinion on this matter. I wear a bathing suit. I find that shorts are very constricting and do not allow you to move fluidly through the water. I understand why someone would not want to wear a bathing suit for reasons of modesty, but I cannot imagine wearing shorts to swim.

well, you are correct!! just a matter pd modesty.. Filipinos are too conservative that they don't want to display their thighs specially if there are boys around... hahaha.. we use the light swimming shorts anyway, the one that used by men..
