I know a lot of people who are annoyed when they are ask of how old are they? specially when they are yet singles. I have a board mate once, she was so upset when somebody ask her age. when her birthday comes, she will not tell the right date because people would sing birthday song for her and she is conscious to think that she is getting older and still single? Well, Obviously it is annoying. Even me, I am annoyed sometimes specially if they raise their brows when I tell them my age.. hahaha what about you? do you feel the same/ or you have another story about this? just curious!!!!

Hello Bebs08! I don't feel annoyed when someone ask my age. I mean, when they ask me about it, I would tell them I am 22 with the smile on my face..hehehe..But I kew someone who is ashamed to tell her real age. Everytime someone will ask her age, she will say that she's like that and the age the she gave to them is actually 5 years younger than her age..heheheh..

Ha!ha!ha! It is not a big matter to me. I'd tell my age whoever asks at any time, any place anywhere. I don't think I have to hide anything anyway. I don't think I have to be conscious if they'd say Oh you are already 52. Yes I'd say a big YES and I am going 53! Then they'd say I thought you are already early 40s. They I'd tell them well that is the wonder of living a healthy life and mot of all living with Jesus who gave me the joy that keeps me forever young at heart.

I am not. I even enjoy sharing my age. May be it is the worrying thing for ladies.
I can remember in a Fear factor show on Television, there was a lady who lasted for 10 weeks or so, didn't tell her age. The anchor was calling her his grandmother and told us that she is 80 years old but then also she didn't tell her actual age.
For me, I only get annoyed when people say that I am getting too old to be married!

Hello bebs, let me put it this way. While we are still a toddler, we were wishing when we could older because being a young there were so many restrictions. When we reached our teens we are proud of our age isn't it? Sweet sixteen etc etc...we start noticing our age when we reach almost 30's but still a single though we have so many relations passed. We start getting annoyed when somebody ask our real age while we remain single yet at near 40's. We would just be flattered if somebody said our face is younger than our age..wow it makes us younger isn't it? Now, getting older is so disturbing, annoying sometimes we considered it a big problem when we are still single. I think it's just normal. It's up to the people concern how they will turn it positively. Even us married people as we already 40's up we are starting to get ready for the next years to come for us...
For single aged individual the only solution that could lessen the annoying problem of the age is to get married. I think that's one of the best solution...Good luck

I dont really mind telling my age.Women are the ones who wont tell their age. They simply divert to some other thing when asked about their age.Old women will tell their age +/- 2 yrs , but the women aged between 20-40 are the ones who dont want to reveal their age.

hahaha you are right!! I had a co-worker who let her age steady for many years.. hahah when asked how old is she? she would always say she is 35.. and that is every year she is 35.. it is really funny.. she is single anyway, that is the reason she doesn't want to reveal her age.

maybe because we have the different cultural backgrounds. i find that we don't mention about being ask for age in our country. it's really nonsense about politeness. but after western culture relecting, the tradition becomes day by day.

i used to get so irritated when people ask my age hehehe....specially when i answer a vague answer, they would just insist and ask it over and over. now i don't get irritated anymore because whenever somebody asks me my age i just tell them whatever they want to hear and that usually just shuts them off...but of course they wont know if that's my real age hehehe...

I don't get annoyed being ask of my age especially if it is need. Well that is a fact so why get angry being asked. Age is just numbers and everyone will reach that age. What matter most with me is that I grow old gracefully and I have done good with others and in some way I have touched their lives. Though a lot of people would say I look younger than my age but I never get offended if I am being asked. Well i think that boardmate of yours friend is really a grouchy person. . Hope she doesn't read on this...

LOL, that is great to know that she married and it totally changed her disposition in life. . I think most single people get offended when ask of their civil status and age for it simply gives the person the know how that they are getting older yet single. Thanks that she is not able to read this I don't want to receive letters about how mean I can be.. LOL.

Yes I am because for me it's so unethical asking a person's age unless he'she told it to you himself. There are even people who asks this question in public and for me that's totally ignorance. It's quite a very personal thing so i understand people who gets anooyed or mad being asked of their age unless of course it's neccessary for official purposes.

Hi Bebs! I think that especially for women it is rather a bit
rude to be asking that question. Some women are a bit sensitive
about that particular question especially as they get older.
I don't think that it is right for people to assume that just
everyone wants to share that information. I don't mind telling
my age, but I am not alway comfortable giving it out in front
of a room full of strangers anymore as I am really getting
quite a bit on in years. And I can certainly understand that
a single woman would feel uncomfortable giving her age because
of the way that society looks upon unmarried women, which is
so wrong and so stupid!

It does not really annoy me much because i'm a guy. I would just tell them my age without feeling offended or something. I does annoy me when someone keeps on insisting that i am very old when i am only 29. Which i feel is still a young age. Maybe it does apply to women that's why i try to avoid asking their age as much a possible.

hehehe yo make me smile!! it is really annoying.. why they are insisting that you are old? hahaha.. they are mean!!! anyway, I don't like it too when people keep on asking my age.. and that was when I am yet single.. now that I am married, I tell them my age in a year adavance than my actual age.. hahaha then my hubby said, why did you say that? you are still 47 why you said you are 48? I said, because I am almost there? but even then, they don't believe,, they said I am younger. hahaha

The fact that I still get carded can be annoying. I have been told I look younger than my actual age. So does my hubby. Among our friends his nick name used to be "Baby face" As we get older, I guess it can be flattering.

hi
no i do not get annoyed when some one asks me about my age.in real many perceive to be very young to my age,so i do not have any sort of problems regarding my age.
though i get annoyed with the frequent questions abt my age in the chats.
Revealing age does not bother me much in the real andf for me no one really came up to me and directly slapped that question on my face.
bye

It is usually the case with young and middle aged women. they don't want to reveal their true age for reasons best known to them. Probably they think that people would stop getting attracted to her if they told their correct age. I don't mind telling my true age to people. In fact, even if they doubt me to be of lesser age, I deliberately tell them that I am 23.

Hello Bebs, i don't have a problem if people asked me of my age because most of them would react WHAAATTTT!? are you serious? and yes, i would say i am serious and i am not joking.
Well the next question will be how come? hehehe! anyway when most of these friends asked me why i look so younger than my age, i would say it's because i smile a lot and i know that it helps me to fight over stress and more.
So even when i post my pictures online and they ask how old am i, they will all say i am younger than my age, it is a blessing to me. Happy Mylotting!

In Korea, when a person is asking for age, they will definitely give you a cold stare. Age for them is a priceless possession, though in modern ages, others give it like candy. I've been doing level tests for Koreans to check on their level in the world of English Language and part of the tests is for them to be conversant and be confident in speaking English, once we get to the question about how old they are, I always make it a point to ask them "How young are you?", this is to keep them in their comfort zone and respecting their belief and culture when it comes to these topics. Nevertheless, who minds about age, as long as you're happy and gay, that makes the world go round!

I really don't mind. I only care when someone says it in somewhat of a condenscending tone. I am only 19, so obviously it is much harder for older adults to take me seriously. It is only aggravating when they associate a younger age with stupidity.
