I may be the grandson in this case, but I know all 4 of my grandparents names. I think my 7 ear old cousin still has a hard time with the names though. They'll figure it out eventually.

Yes, I am grandma Heather, and the other grandma is grandma Peggy. That is how we have been raising the kids. I think it is cute that he says Bobo is what he named you.

Ha!ha!ha! That's so cute of him! Ha!ha!ha! That reminds me of so many kids who actually do not know the real name of their grandma. They know them and call me grandma or granny or "lola" in our native tonque, or mommyta, or mommy as they call their own mom. I have grandchildren from my nieces and nephew and they of course know my name.

hahaha..you're grandson is really innocent. I can really imagine his look. He probably doesn't know your real name. I am not a grandmother yet and what you said is a lesson to me..lol..If ever I will have a grandchild, I would tell him/her my real name as early as possible..heheh

Well I don't have grandchildren but I have several nieces and nephews, and I don't think they know my mom's name. I know one time I was asking them if they knew what her name was and all they kept saying was, her names Grandma, but they do call her by her last name but with Grandma in front of it, as in Grandma so and so. When they get older they'll figure it out..ha.

My grandson is only 8 months old and I'm sure he doesn't know my name yet. lol. But I know he knows my face. He's excited when he sees me which makes me feel really good. When he gets old enough, I will tell him my name. I think it's good for children to know their Grandparents names.

I don't have grandchildren yet, but if I recall correctly I was a teenager before I knew my grandparent's real names. It just wasn't something I'd thought to ask. My oldest son didn't know my name until he was in school. He was really amazed when he figured out that his mom and dad had names just like everyone else.

One set of grandchildren call me nanny sue as they came in a package with my wonderful daughter in law. They had plenty of relatives already so I decided they might feel more comfortable with that part friend part grandmother. My daughters children, the older one at six used to try to call me sue but I said no,the younger boy calls me nanny and nothing else he is worried about what you have to eat then your name.Your little grandson is wonderful he has a special name for you because you are a special person to him.He will still call you that when he is fifty.xxx

Hi Jo. I'm not a grandma yet. I think I was around 7 when I started asking things like relatives' names and then later on about their ages. My mom would tell me that I ask too many questions back then. But for a good while, I just called my grandma from my mother's side 'grand mama'. Thanks. Have a wonderful time with your grandson.

That is so cute! My twins will be three in June and they call me cynthie notGrandma. This is just a tradtion in our family whereby the grands call us by our Christian or first names. They do know that I am their grandmother but don't seewm to understand that thier Daddy is my son. "No, he's our Daddy", etc. My 8 year old grand does understand of course. she loves to hear stories of ewhat her Daddy got up to when he was young. Have a blessed day.

I didnt know my maternal grandparent's names until I was about 15 and I still get my paternal grandparent's names wrong. I think its easy for children to pick up their parents names because their parents probably call each other by their first name all the time. Grandparents are a different story though because the childs parents probably call their own parents mum and dad and and the in-laws probably have a similar naming system so I think this is why some kids dont know their grandparents names
