My dog jumps on "Uncle" every time he comes over. Well today she wouldn't quit. So I shouted at her, and she finally got down. "Uncle" is one of the few people she overdoes it with. She looked at me like I was nuts, and even grumbled at me! Gotto say I was pretty ticked.

Frost is moderately stubborn but he also listens to me very well. LOL!! I'm the alpha in the family. He just ignores my other half though as to what my other half says to him he takes it as a suggestion. LOL!!!

My dog minds me pretty well but she knows my husband is the softy and she can get away with a lot more when he's there. There is a wonderful show on Animal Planet that i get lots of training tips from called "It's Me Or The Dog". Fantastic show, all about positive reinforcement. She says to turn your back and ignore a jumping dog until they calm down. I've seen it work wonders.

She was probably just way to over oyed to see him and so she didn't want to listen because she wanted to play. When they get a bit hyped up they don't like to listen..Did he smell like food? might be another reason.

My dog is pretty stubborn. He does see me as the alpha dog though and usually listents to me. He will persist quite often with his behavior. He is usually talked into the house after awhile though. I really love my little dog though whether he is good or bad he is my little sweetheart.

I have two dogs and the male sometimes gets a bit stubborn when we have guest over but I must say it might just be his excitement too, but he does not listen to me as much and is a bit hectic. I have been meaning to get him into a more relaxed routine when people come over. I need to put that into practice.

High energy dogs can be hard to control. I'm sure that dog whisperer guy has something to say about it. I'm no dog trainer, however. I can't tell you.

My dog does the same thing sometimes...but only when my brother comes over. She will just not leave him alone!! I don't get to see my brother but every few months or so, and for the life of me, I can't understand why she goes so wonkers over him lol. I could see it if he was a constant visitor, but only a few times a year, what's with that?! She usually keeps her distance from others that come over, but my brother she's obsessed with. I don't let her get away with grumbling at me though, she knows she's not allowed to do that. Still, I can understand how we get ticked!!
