What causes my computer to do this ------------ when I've stopped typing just for a few minutes? My old computer never did this.

Check for that key near + sign, If it is pressed or not some time ti happens that it sticks when u press it so just relax

Try to check your keyboard for pressed keys... If you can't find one, then maybe the narration is active, you should disable it by pressing the window key plus the "U" letter.... Hope it helps...
