People who think they can cook but really cant

Do you know people like this. At one time in college I live in a house with 6 girls. Well one of my roomates thought she was the best cook on the planet. We all had one day during the week that we would cook dinner for everybody. There were countless meals she made that just tasted horrible. She didnt cook with any seasoning and skipped parts of receipes and Im not talking about just leaving out an ingredient cause you don't like it or can't find it, I mean like cooking meat at 250 or 300 degrees when the instructions say 350 or 375 or even 400 degrees. Often times we all made excuses not to eat when she cooked unless she was doing like hambger helper or something like that. One time she made this steak dinner and everyone got sick. She had the nerve to get mad at us because we got sick off of her food.Another time she baked(well tried to bake) a cake. The girl didn't put any oil in it and she wondered why it didnt turn out right. She blamed the oven.

Lol... there's always one, my friend. It seems as though this friend thought they were doing it right, but to blame the oven when you forget to put oil in a cake, is ridiculous, especially when you all knew she forgot the ingredient. I sometimes cook meat slower because it comes out more tender but I lengthen the cooking time to correspond with the lower temperature and also add a quarter pint of water to the container in which it's being cooked. I'm assuming that this girl didn't adjust the time! Hmmmmm... a sure way to food poisoning, my friend. Brightest Blessings.

No she did not adjust the time. We all told her she was crazy. She said her mom cooked meat like that and they never got sick. I don't know if I believe that they never got sick.

Well as far as I know, and I've done a lot of cooking in my life, different meats and different cuts of meat require different temperatures and timing. I guess she wasn't aware of that fact.

Oh yes. My sister-in-law is terrible! She is constantly inviting us over for dinner and we are constantly finding excuses not to go! LOL I have bough her so many cookbooks she could start a library! But it just doesn't work/ Some people just don't have it! LOL We have never got sick though. I think I would have had to say something about that before they kill someone! LOL

We stopped the whole everybody cooks for everybody deal that day. She was so mad, but we told her you need to learn how to cook meat properly before we would ever eat something you made again. Thanks for responding!!
