If you see money laying around, do you pick it up? This discussion has been on mylot a few times over the years that i have been here, but here is something that may make you think a little different about that change you see laying around.
I recently read a short article on a man who jogged along a certain route every day and noticed there was a lot of spare change laying there, so he as he jogged, he pocketed the change. The article said he averaged about 70 cents per day (and also found bills once in a while). Well, the article stated that over a period of 8 years or so, he had found over an amazing amount of $5,700! He used the money to go on a trip.
If you see a penny laying around, do you pocket it? I sure do! I usually find a penny or two most days, last week I found six cents on the bus and the odd bill, but not to the extent of this guy.

I will.First, every coin costs the metal, costs someone's work. And it stands for a country.A new era,a new penny. In my country, there is a national emblem on the back side and we are being told to cherish every coin ,not the money itself, from up to now. There is a saying - a thousand gold coins spent, more will turn up again.
Second,a coin is a coin.One thousand pennies will be a pound.Never waste a penny.
Third,I have the habit to collect coins, all kinds of the coins...Now,I have several jars of coins together with my emotion tips.

Hi cher. Of course I will. Money is money and with grain and grain the chicken fill the craw. Who never have the experience when you need some change to complete the amount you need to buy something and you don't have more money with you? so pennies are important too. It is money. When I find it I pick up. Why not? I know that some people have shame to pick it up and it is really funny because if they find a nice amount they will pick it up quickly. So which the difference? money is money always.
Have a nice day.

Yes I will pick it up
Finders keepers, losers weepers
They have lost it because they are careless. I have found an accumulated amount of 500Pesos last year (in denomination of 100 bills crumpled together) and since I need the money so I keep it.

Hi Cher, I usually pick up the change I see laying on the ground and such. "A penny saved is a penny earned." When I get home I will put this change in a jar until it is filled, then my husband and I use it for something we want, weather it is a dinner out or something for the house. There this one time we found enough to go away for the weekend because we had a few one dollar bills and 2 twenty dollar bills in the jar. That is rare to find the bills, but it does happen. I never considered to keep track for a years time, but maybe I will now. We do have a jar 1/2 full of change with a one dollar bill in it.

I pick up mony i find. Even pennys add up. Some of my freinds don't like pennys and throw them on the ground if they get any in change. I told them if you don't want them just give them to me. I am going to start a can or jar to keep them in so I can Show them what it can add up to after a year. I think they will be surprised.

I sure do ,too. The biggest land is made up of numerous piece of mud block.A penny is trival in someone's eyes .but just this penny can bring us more good luck and confidence. So we don't look down those tinny affairs . Maybe they will become the important things.

Well Cher913 you got your self some intresting answers here!
Personally I pick up any change I see. I'm not proud! More recently my 2 year old daughter has been finding money. Yes some times in the house on the counter or in the car on the floor but none the less she has been watching for money every where! Honestly I'd say in the last week she has probably found a good 2 bucks in change. Even at the park she finds it! When she isn't looking I throw it in her piggy bank - her piggy bank is GROWING fast.
I keep all my change in a jar neither my husband or I spend our change it all goes in the jar and once a year or so we use it for some thing good. Last year it was a week vacation to see my parents. The year before it was a weekend get a way for just him and I.

Wow, $5,700 is a lot to find, even over that sort of time. The most I have ever found in one go was £20. Pennies I normally leave if they are on the floor, but I guess if you were to pick them all up you would actually have a fair amount each day as people just seem to throw loose change all over the place. :)

I heard about that guy that made picked up change everyday as well. I am not sure that I would be willing to pick up a couple of cents, however a couple of dollars or a quarter, sure why not? I mean who doesn't like free money and if anyone is going to pick it up why not it be you. I think that over the years, all of the bills and change that I have picked up probably would account to around 150 dollars. I guess that this guy is just lucky to pick up that much worth of change in eight years.

I am usual the one that drops the change in the first place.
