No no, you dont sound like a bad mom. I was just curious why you hadnt taken her to the doctor, but you explained yourself. I would take her in just to have it checked out. It might be something more serious than you realize, and if not, then its better safe than sorry:) Good luck! Hope it turns out to be nothing.

I haven't taken her to a doctor because for the past two weeks, I thought they were growing pains. I don't want to sound like a bad mother, but my daughter is only eight years old. She is already about 5 ft tall, and I'm only 5'6", so I just thought she was still growing!

Yeah go to a doctor he will have an expert opinion.

I'd definitly get her to a doctor. The pain in the leg that lasted that long that I have had experianced turned out to be a blood clot

Is she limping and what kind of pain is it, throbbing or just a kind of always present pain. Is the pain only there when she walks or when does it come up. 3 weeks is a long time but I know I have had shin splints (shin becomes stressed and hurts when pressure is put on) and I had those for over a month. She could of torn or sprained something also. Really need more details to help.

She's complaining about pain on the top part of her leg in the front, she is a very active girl. She complains more when she is walking!

If she has had this pain this long you probably need to take her to the Dr. A cousin of min had a growth on his leg from believe it or not from sinus infection. Get her to the Dr. as soon as possible. any time a pain last that long it bad.

If it's been three weeks constantly, then there's more than likely the chance that it's more serious than growing pains. Growing pains tend to be more sporadic, less constant. It might be nothing (and probably is), but there's a possibility it could be a stress fracture or something. I really don't mean to scare you, but you should probably schedule an appointment with a doctor.

I would advise that you take her in to at least have her checked out by a physician, that way if its nothing at least you will feel better knowing it might just be growing pains. Hope all goes well...

I am unable to understand this, though, yes, it could be growing pains and no cause for worry , but would it hurt ( I mean monetarily )if you seek expert ( Dr ) advice? Or perhaps you dont have the time as you are probably single and working? You could ask a few mothers in your block or at work - first hand..

i think you need to take her to the doctor because you never know what could be wrong. three weeks of complaining is to long.
