Some of you know that I don't sleep in our bed very often because it kills my back. It's a posture pedic pillow top. There's nothing posture pedic about it! I hate the darn thing and can't wait to get rid of it! Anyway, we both have neck problems, his is worse than mind however, we both sleep with a beaded pillow for it's so comfortable and neck friendly. I decided I'm going to sleep on the living room sectional couch last night and has asked hubby to get my bead pillow and he got it and threw it at me and it hit me square across my eyes! Talking about painful as hell!! And that's putting it mildly!! Both of my eyes stung like fire especially the right side of my right eye! At first he didn't realize what he'd done and then took it lightly but when I screamed at him he realized I was really in pain and it wasn't a joke at all!! He got me a wet cool rag and apologized so many times which was well and good but dang it! "Don't you EVER do that again!!" Beads have some weight appose to a cotton filled pillow so when he threw it, it got some force to it as it was flying in the air and is why it hurt so bad. He apologies over and over again and I accepted but let him know RIGHT NOW that he better never do that again or he'll be the one hurting!! It took a good 10 - 15 minutes before the pain subsided. I'm not telling you this to make him look bad but to let you know that those beaded pillows DO hurt if hit in the right spot!! So never throw them unless the person is ready for to catch it and only toss it, never ever throw!Do you have a beaded pillow? Do you like it? We love ours but hubby almost wore mine!!

Ouch!! I don't have a bead pillow but I can imagine it did hurt. I got elbowed in the eye before, it hurt so much it took my breathe away. It literally makes you see stars. Have you ever tried sleeping on a water bed? I have a 75% motionless water bed. Its the most comfortable bed in the world. Its always nice and warm and instantly comfy. I used to wake up with a back ache everyday until I got my bed. With a waterbed you can make it firmer or softer, depending on how much water you put in it. I have been sleeping on a water bed for 27 yrs. now. Yes the cats love it too.

Oh! And by the way, I had a water bed one time and didn't like it because it was so hard to make up everyday. We do still have our old mattress set and I'll sleep on that every now and then. A new mattress set is relatively new.... about 4 years old and they're very expensive so I'll wait a few more years. Besides, we just got a new living room set and are trying to sell the old one on craigslist.

My Hubby knows better than to toss things in my direction. I wouldn't toss things at him either. LOL We're both legally blind, so we know better not to throw things. I'm glad that your hubby apologized, and that he now knows not to do stuff like that ever again. I'm sure once your eyes feel completely better, this will be FUNNY some day. No, we don't have bead pillows.

I bet you two know better than to throw anything at each other! Geeze, a person would have to be right inconsiderate and stupid to do that to either one of you. Hubby was sincere when he apologized and I know he didn't mean it but it did hurt like hell! A lesson learned and I still have my eye sight which is good so it all ended up well and good. You really should try the bead pillows! They're awesome!! The first one we had burst open so we had to throw it away but we got new ones and I opened up two and emptied it into a pillow case and had a neighbor sew it shut. It's so comfortable especially when either one of us has a sore neck.

They're really awesome! I took two and cut them open and dumped the contents into a pillow case and had a neighbor sew it shut and it's so comfortable!! I can wash it on gentle cycle when needed and it won't bust open. Our first one got little tiny holes in it from using it so often and now that it's in a pillow case, none comes out now! lol

I found a site where you can get them at because we got our first one from my mom and then we found some more at Walmart but they don't have them anymore unless it's a special occasion which is aggravating because they're soooo nice!! Especially with neck problems like hubby and I both have! Here's the site.... see you there!! LOL

OUch - he would have eaten it if he did that to me! I know it was an accident but that must have hurt - I remember when we were younger and would play statues and things with a small beanbag. That thing was tiny but when it was thrown and hit you it hurt like heck. I am sure that you could milk this situation for a little while honey - I would! lol xxx

Ouch. Hope you weren't seriously hurt. I don't own a bead pillow. I had one filled with buck wheat once. Glad it is comfy. Bet your hubby won't be tossing anything at you again for a while!

I agree, I'm glad it wasn't serious but it sure did hurt like hell! It stung my eyes because they were open and I had turned around and WHAM! right in the eyes! Hubby did apologize over and over so I know he didn't mean it and no he better not be throwing anything else at me or else!!

hi catsanddogs!
wow! i never thought beaded pillows can be that painful! but i guess it also depends on the force applied when throwing it.
but really, thanks so much for telling us this. yeah, it is not really to make your husband look bad. i believe he had no intention of hurting you either. but sometimes our innocent actions, even as we may not know it, already hurt the ones we love.
so thank you, so that we will not make the same mistake, especially towards young children.
take care and God bless!
happy mylotting!

Oh no, he didn't mean to hurt me and I know that. It's not an issue between us at all but that I wanted to pass the information on so no one else gets hurt. The pillows seem so light and airy but they aren't. They can really hurt someone if one isn't careful.

I don't have a beaded pillow. I know he did not mean anything when he did it. It was definitely a hard lesson to learn. I am glad that you are ok though, it really could have not had such a good outcome.

No hubby didn't mean to hurt me and he apologized several times so I know it was sincere. Last night my eyes hurt a little bit and my right one watered a little bit but today it's a lot better so I hope it continues getting better.

I do not know what a bead pillow is. Unless it is kind of like a bean bag, with styrofoam pellets in it.

Yeah that's the one! I call them bead or bean pillows because that's how they feel to me. They're really awesome! I took two and cut them open and dumped the contents into a pillow case and had a neighbor sew it shut and it's so comfortable!! I can wash it on gentle cycle when needed and it won't bust open like our first one did.

Just wanted to pass on the information that those bead pillow hurt when thrown at someone or could in a playful pillow fight.

Yes I do have a beaded pillow and I love it. I haven't had mine thrown at me though! I know that had to hurt! I hate it when I do something unthoughted and someone gets hurt. I'm sure he hates the fact that he did it now. But hey! There's you some ammo! Hope your eye gets better!

i never take a bed pillow ,it is the best remedy for curing back pains and neck pains .u just give it a try ,for sometime it might fell uncomfortable but then u will realize that how good it is .also try to sleep on a solid mattress ,i mean to say that ,many people sleep on spring beds ,they think they r soft and spongy ,but the fact is that when u sleep on these mattresses ur back starts paining.so always sleep without pillow !!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for that information but hubby and I have neck injuries that require a certain type of pillow or we're both in agony. This bead pillow does wonders for us and I just thought I'd pass on the information on them that they can be hurtful if thrown at somebody. I'm not upset with my hubby because I know he didn't mean to hurt me and all is fine as far as that goes but just wanted to pass on the information about them. Thanks again and also, WELCOME TO MYLOT!!

They ARE very soft but it stinks like a SOB if thrown at you! You wouldn't think so just by the feel of it but good gosh! it hurts like hell when it hits you. Hubby didn't mean to hurt me and I'm not upset with him over it because it was a lesson learned and he apologized.

So you can imagine how the bean pillow felt! Whew! But hubby apologized over and over so I know it was sincere and I accepted his apology as long as it NEVER happens again!!
