Last weekend we drove an hour away to visit a zoo for a change of scenery. After the zoo we went out to eat. Hubby paid with his credit card, and we headed home.
Once home, I sent hubby out for some video rentals, and some cappuccino from Tim Horton's. He came home empty handed! He'd lost his credit card! Apparently he'd left it at the restaurant we'd eaten at.
We called them, and they agreed to mail it to us since we couldn't drive back up to get it. Phew!
So have you ever forgotten your card? Or lost it somewhere? Did you get it back?

I once lost, or thought I did, a gas card. I filled up my car at a local station. Then, my daughter and I left with her children for Florida. When we got down there, I went to fill up her car and NO card! Thank goodness I had money with me. My husband was home, and I called him to tell him to get it stopped, not knowing where it was. Turned out, when we got home, and I visited the last place I bought gas, she handed me my card. I had accidentally left it on the counter when I turned to leave.
A few weeks ago, I had bought stamps at the post office. Later I could not find my Discover card and thought I had maybe left it there. I remembered getting in my car, laying the ticket and stamps on the console and later putting the stamps in my purse. I went through my purse 3 times and no card. Later that night, I said, Lord let me find my card. I just had a thought to go look on my console, and, sure enough, there it was!! Really made me feel good, not having to stop that one.

I can imagine! I remember once I forgot to take my debit card out of the ATM. They couldn't get it back for me either since the bank itself doesn't have a key to the ATM. I think they ended up having to issue me a new card, what a pain that was.

Once, I was using my ATM card. I had always used my husbands and put in his code. Well, I decided I'd try using mine. Seems they never got my code correct and the machine kept my card after a few tries. I had to go into the bank to get it back. I've since used my husband's card.

I have forgotten a debit card at a gas station before. Well, actually I did not forget it exactly. The girl behind the counter did not give it back to me and I was in a hurry on my way to work. I realized it was gone when I got off of work. The girl that worked there took it and used it for over $100 worth of stuff in the time it took me to notice it was missing.

I am not sure what happened to her. I did get my money back though.
When I went back in there they said they did not have it, but took my phone number in case they found it. By the time I got home they had called the house to say they found it and I could come in and get it. I went back in there 2 days later and they said they did not have it anymore that after a few days they throw the cards out if no one has come back for them. When I called my bank about it they told me what happened with the card. I told the store manager and I never went back there again to find out what happened to her.

I lost my debit card and never have found it. I don't even know where I could have left it. I had to cancel the card and get a new one that took over a month to get, the bank had some lame excuse for it but, that didn't matter to me. It all happened on a weekend and on Monday I was able to get a temporary card which only was good for 2 week and they shut it off on a Sunday grrrr.

Thankfully I haven't but I have a story about a friend. A few years ago we went out to the bar and while a bunch of us were dancing someone took off with her purse. We scoured the bar and the street outside with no luck. She went home and went through all her stuff, cancelling everything that was in her wallet at 3 am. The next day she got a phone call and the guy said 'oh, hi, this is the guy who gave you a ride home last night. You left your purse in my car'. She got a ride with us so it wasn't her that left the purse behind, it was the thief! The driver was just being a nice guy and he looked at her ID, looked her name up in the phone book and called to let her know he had it. They showed up at her place within an hour and she wasn't missing anything at all. Now THAT is what I call luck!

Yea it has happened to me before, managed to loose my entire wallet a long time ago, cards and all. I tried looking all over the place for it, re tracing my steps but in the end I had to give up. After cancling everything, about three months later I found it in my other trousers :/ not impressed ...

Wow..good that you were able to recover it. It happened to me, I thought I lost my credit card and after a day, I called up the office to cut it off since I cannot find it.
I got another card and in my surprise, after cleaning all my purses, I found the old one in one of my purses that I stopped using...

I've had mine stolen but I've never lost it. I'm paranoid about it now.
You were lucky that it was still there at the restaurant and that they sent it back to you!

I'm so glad that you got the card back. They were kind people. Yes, I have lost my credit card and it has caused me no end of trouble as I had to wait over a week before I could get another one. And I use my credit card in my part time job so it was not nice at all. I do hope tha tyo are all settled in your new home. You must feel less stressed now. I hope tha tyou all enjoiyed your visit to the zoo. It is so important just to get out of the house. Now I'm ramblingBlessings

I have lost my card before. I went to the ATM and actually left my card in the machine. I didn't realize that I didn't have my card until the next day when I went to the store to buy something. I was freaking out in the store as that is a very scary experience to have to go through. I couldn't imagine where I had left my card and if some one had it if they were going to be able to use it.
Mind you I don't sign any of my cards so that you have to show id when you try to use it, however not to many merchants actually ask me for my id when I use the card. They barely even ask me to see my card. That is very scary if you think about it. Especially with all the identity theft going on nowadays.
I ended up calling my bank to report my card lost and they let me know that they have my card. LOL I left my card in the ATM machine and it ate it as that's what they do if you leave your card in the machine and no one else comes to use the ATM. I will not let that happen again if I can help it.

I did that once too, and they had to issue me a new card. But I know what you mean about asking to see ID. I didn't sign my card either, and now all you have to do is swipe the card and sign the pad and that's that. The cashiers never ask to see the card, never look at the signature, never ask to see ID... and the funny part is, even when they do, the transaction is already finished, so even if the signatures didn't match, nothing they can do, it already went through.

I have lost my debit card before at a high school basketball game. It was in my wallet and I guess I dropped it some how. I got it back, the janitor found my wallet and brought it to the main office, which my wife works at. I was extremely scared when I had first learned that I lost it because someone could have charged items and goods on my account with my credit card as well as found out what my address was and more of personal information. Be careful with your wallet and your credit cards. Good luck!

I have lost my credit card once and I don't know where it felt. I called and blocked the credit card and asked for a reissue of the credit card because I never got it back. After many days, I got the new one reissued. I once lost my check, which I got as a payment of home transcription. I called them and they called the bank and stopped the check from collection and reissued a new cheque of salary to me.
