We've got a garmin. It doesnt do any annoying talking, it just gets us from A to B. I love it! I've been in people's cars before who have TomToms and they're so annoying! But even if you can turn that talking off, they lose reception all the time and the maps are always out of date for our area.

o wow, you must have had some really bad responses with tomtom! garmins are my 2nd favorite though. ive never had any of those things happen to mine, but i agree the voices on any of the gps's are a little annoying. ive never tried the majellan's or any of the other ones, have you?!

No I've not had any experience with those. Around here, theres only the garmin and tomtom that are really popular. We only got the garmin because my bf was annoyed with me ponting directions as he tried to drive, and I just cant get the hang of left and right. It was £100 brand new at a time where all others were £150 upwards so we just went for it and its one of the best purchases we've made in recent years.

ya mapquest is great because it has all the up-to-date maps that are out there and are always updating constantly. the gps's that you buy they charge you for a new map every year. but mapquest can be tricky when you are driving and you have to keep on looking down at the paper.
