Hey everyone. I just got back from the grocery store, and I think I'm going to start bringing my lunch to school more often. I got access to the refrigerator in my department's lounge, so I'd like to use it. I want to start bringing in sandwiches more often. I don't eat wheat, but I found some good gluten-free bread that makes a tasty sandwich. I bought some honey-barbeque sliced chicken breast, and I just tried it... it's delicious! I also bought munster and swiss cheese. What are your favorite types of sandwiches? What types of cold cuts do you like best, and what cheese pair well with them? Do you put condiments on your sandwiches? I just bought some dijon mustard, but I don't think it will go well with the honey barbeque chicken. We'll see!!

My favorite type of sandwich is something you really can't take to school and is not that healthy, but I love it once in a blue moon. It's my version of a cuban pork sandwich and I created it one day by trying to use up leftover carnitas meat. I take a soft french roll type of bread and liberally spead mayo on both sides, a little mustard, add a good portion of carnitas, which I buy from Costco, sliced ham, sliced pickels and american cheese. Then I put it all together in the oven and place something really heavy on it to squish it down and bake for about five minutes on both sides or until both sides are crispy. It only tastes good if the carnitas you are buying are good because most of the flavor of the sandwich lies in it.

I only had a Cuban once, and that was in Miami... so I think I'm spoiled from that!!

My favorite sandwhich is Turkey on rye with lettuce and tomato and provalone cheese, with lots of mayo. I am alo big into hot sandwiches made in my george forman grilling machine.
