Presciption goggles? Do they work?

I have very bad vision and I was considering buying prescription goggles. The only questions I have is that are they worth it? I have heard that they fog up quite a bit and I am not sure that I am willing to deal with that. What is your experience and do you think that I should buy them?

I don't have vision problems, but my two sisters do, and all of us were competitive swimmers. They both tried prescription goggles at one point or another, but always preferred to just use their contacts and wear normal goggles. For what it was worth, they found the prescription goggles to be too expensive and not that great (like you say, they fogged up a lot, etc). There is anti-fog treatment you can put on goggles, so that might help a little if you do decide to get prescription ones, but if you're trying to avoid unnecessary cost, I would recommend going with normal goggles and contacts (if you have them). Perhaps using daily contact lenses would be helpful, then if in the off-chance one gets lost, it could easily be replaced. Just a thought! Good luck!
