I recently (well, not that recently) got a laptop, an Asus EEE PC, running Xandros 4. So far I haven't used it for much except web browsing and writing, but from what I have read, linux is supposed to be an excellent OS for hacking, programming, HTML, etc. I am a very amateur hacker, I know nothing about programming and a bit about HTML. Anyway, I haven't really found anything much different or better than my windows desktop computer.
I've been running mainly through easy desktop mode, because whenever I use full desktop mode each time I shutdown all the icons I placed on it have disappeared.
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with how Xandros is different, what I can do with it, a list of commands, etc and how to keep icons in full desktop mode.
Thanks,
TNF

Xandros is a Linux distribution based on Debian.
Debian is a server distribution and Xandros is more targeted towards desktops and laptops.
So all the commands which will work and all the configuration which can be on Debian can also be done on Xandros.
Please check their web site www.xandros.com
Take care.
