Why do they always put the good TV shows on so late??

Why does this ALWAYS happen? hen Charmed was on TV, before it finished, it got the 10:30pm time slot before it went off the air. Now I'm into Dexter which is in the 2nd season here in Australia & it has been put to a 10pm - 10:30 pm timeslot on a Sunday night!! Now I normally fall asleep in front of the TV trying to stay awake to watch it & wake up once it's over. Why can't they put the good shows on at 8:30pm or 9:30 pm & the crappy ones on later??

I think the reason of giving a late time slot for those good TV programs is because most people are at home at that time. Maybe they are thinking that most people are working 8 hours a day from 8 am to 5 pm. Students are studying from morning to afternoon or early evening. I hope I am right. ^^ Happy mylotting!

That's true! You make a good point. (By the way, I used to LOVE Charmed!! Good to see there's another fan on myLot!) I think it depends, though, if you have cable or not. For example, I used to always watch re-runs on TNT of Charmed, and they would come on at about 4pm on the weekdays, and that was nice (although, again, they were re-runs and not new episodes). Their target audience must be night owls, right? My other favorite show, Without a Trace, is on at 10pm on Tuesdays, which is pretty late considering I have to get up & go to school at 7am. . But what can you do?

I don't know about that.... my husband and I have an awsome lineup of shows that we like to watch Mondays to Thursdays. 7-8 Two and a half men (2) 8-9 two home Improvements 9-10 Two Rebas, 10-11, Two and a hallf men again (2), 11-11:30 Simpsons, 11:30-midnight That 70's show. On Fridays Home Improvement and Reba aren't on. Our big complaints though, is that there's nothing good on Sunday nights.

Well based on my own understanding, if they put good shows earlier and those crappy on late at night, there will be no more audience for the crappy. No one can spend and waste time for the crappy shows instead of going to bed and have a good sleep.
