I first heard about these books on Facebook. It seemed to be all over the place over there. Once I was playing around with the flair app and it was all about Bella and Edward. I totally didn't understand it yet... but in time I came to learn about this new best selling novel about a vampire that falls in love with a human.
Well the movie was just released on DVD, and we decided to rent it, mostly to see what all the hype was about. We didn't expect to get into it, knowing it's more geared towards teens. At first we didn't think we liked it. A quarter of the way through the movie hubby says "I hope it gets good soon". It just seemed to be so awkward and confusing. But I couldn't help but wonder how it was going to turn out, so I kept watching. By the time the movie ended I was hooked. I still felt it was all a little awkward. The characters seem to have no character at all. I'm not sure why our leading lady must be so withdrawn from the world... I'm not sure I like that about her. To me she came across as a bit rude... like she was intentionally trying to shut people out, but she obviously didn't want to. I think that's why it was so hard to get into, our main characters have no personality to speak of... they're just boring! But oddly enough I still liked the movie, and am looking forward to seeing more of Twilight... I might even consider reading the books.
Are you a Twilight fan? Have you read the books? Seen the movie? What's your take on it?

I've heard about it alot since the movie has come out but I had never heard about the books before that. I had thought about trying to read the books too but I haven't yet. I was going to read the harry potter books for the heck of it but then I figured I would be picking apart the movies deciding what was in the book and what wasn't lol. Plus I don't have time to read any more. I had thought I might like twilight but if the characters are boring I probably wouldn't.

I have read all the Harry Potter books. It worked out the same way as Twilight... I didn't hear about it until the movie came out, and wondered what the huge fuss was about... then one day I took my son to see it for something to do, and I was hooked. I borrowed all the books from the library, those that were already out. The last couple books I purchased the minute they hit the shelves. That's also one of the few movies I must see in theaters, because I just can't wait till it's on video, and I buy the DVD as soon as that hits shelves too.
I do sort of pick the movies apart... but I'm still excited to see them. Whenever I read the books I think about how they might make that scene in the movie.

Not yet no. I am going to watch the movie. It is on my netflix list. My niece is really into it. She wants me to read the books. I am sure that eventually I will. She was disappointed when she saw the movie in the theatre. Apparently, it didn't live up to the book for her.

Nah, I'm not a Twilight fan. I've seen the movie two times though, well just because I have to accompany a friend that time who badly wanna watch it. A friend of mine read all the books and she said it was a good one. I'm not planning on reading it 'cause I'm not really fascinated with the movie so I kinda think that it wasn't that much difference in the book. I think it got a bit overrated by teens, Rob Pattinson who plays Edward Cullen is a hottie, I must admit. Well, let's just hope that the second movie is better, I heard they started filming.

Good day.. For me it's just a feel good movie and that's it. Nothing to remember it for in time to come. The love story is mediocre, characters are predictable. It's just happened that the actor and actress playing the lead role had chemistry that carried the movie other than that it's just an average movie. It's not in the league of Love story by Erich Seagal, An affair to remember or Same time next year.

You really should read the books. I have all of them and have read the first two books of the series twice. The movie really didn't capture the true nature of the characters out of the book but what movie really does a book justice? But the books were great and although i enjoyed the movie and can't wait for new moon to come out i would recommend you read the books at least the first one and then watch the movie again. But welcome to the twilight world and i hope you enjoy lol

I have not read any of the books but I know a ton of my friends went crazy over them and think I am nuts for not reading them. My SIL stood in line last week and waited for her Target to open so she could buy, I think, the movie that came out on disc. From what I have heard it really doesn't sound like something I would be too interested in but they all say once you start reading them, you can't stop. I will admit, I am curious....but I will not go out and buy a $18 book. I think I will look out for it at the library.

I highly encourage you to read the books! I am a very big fan and the first time I saw the movie I was disappointed because it was not as amazing as the book. Now that it has grown on me (after seeing it four times) I love it in its own way. But, like most movies, it is nothing compared to Stephenie Meyer's work! I was not really into the idea but a friend told me to just read four chapters to see if I liked it. Four pages in I fell in love with Bella's quirky attitude and devoured all the books and waited impatiently for Breaking Dawn. So, please, give the books a reading and you will see just why this series is getting so much attention.
