Is the PSP "dying" as a handheld console? Will you sell your PSP?

I don't think that there will be any more new games for this handheld gaming device. It's now just prolonging its stay and the Nintendo DS has beat it to a pulp. I think what made PSP a failure is that it never had any good games, maybe except for the Tekken series and the Final Fantasy game: Crisis Core. Overall, I am planning to sell my PSP so that I can buy a Nintendo DS. I think it's a much better console. So, what do you think of the PSP? Is it dead or does it still have a fight on it left?

well psp hasn't had many good games on it and one of the reasons is that it only has one analogue stick instead of two so the FPS and third person shooter genres didn't do quite well on the PSP because their gameplay mostly had an auto lock on system which wasn't fun at all. but syphon filter and resistance did a good with the controls but still they just don't feel right while playing. piracy also hit them very hard because custom firmware not only enables playing downloaded psp games through the memory stick but it also enables you to play PS1, SNES, neo geo, GBA, sega etc games. so that's why developers don't want to make new games for the PSP. the DS is doing so well because the touch screen has brought a lot of creativity in the games. but still some feel that it is a handheld meant for kids. but even then this handheld is selling in the market. and i have a PSP, and i love some of the games and one or two new games come out every couple of month. i am happy with it =D

Indeed, it's a bad thing that piracy "hurt" the PSP's growth as a console. I think that's why some game companies are not making games for it anymore. I sure hope that Little Big World from the PS3 (or whatever that game's name is) will transition to the PSP. There have been rumors about it and I wish it comes true soon enough.

The other advantage of the DS is that even though it has worse graphics than the PSP, it is pretty indestructible! All Nintendo consoles are TOUGH as nails. Try dropping the PSP, it's bound to get broken even with just a slight drop.

I don't own a PSP. So i guess the plan to create a mobile phone PSP will be scrapped soon huh? Well i guess in gaming, PSP will soon die if there will be no come from behind games that will come out soon. I guess that's where Nintendo is good at. They create games even non gamer would appreciate. As far as multimedia is concerned, i think the PSP has the edge in a sense that it can play music and dvd quality videos in stereo sound and a quite decent wide screen. I would choose PSP over Ipod anytime. Not with Itouch though, obviously.

There have been talks of updating the PSP's hardware somewhere, but what good would that do right? I mean, if they will stop making good games for the console, what's superior hardware good for? Just for show? I'm still not giving up though. I know someday the PSP will redeem itself.

True. However. If you sell your PSP to buy a DS what will happen if your bored with DS and you want a PSP? I have both of these consoles. Mainly because My sisters and I shared the expense in buying these consoles and we are to cherish it. And besides, both of these consoles has pros and cons. Just hang on to it and just buy a new DS with earned money. It isn't bad to have both consoles. You might not kow you are missing out upcoming good games in PSP.
