I work evenings and lately no matter what time I go to bed I can't seem to get myself out of bed the next morning before 10am or so. This feels to late to be sleeping in and when I finally do get up, I feel I've wasted the majority of my day. Does anyone have any good tips on controlling the number of hours you sleep and having more energy when you wake up in the morning?

Actually it's good to see that you are well aware and conscious about your health first of all. Going late to bed is not a good habit because continuous late bedtimes can tamper your Circadian rhythm, so that you will have to take a longer nap, which will tamper your morning routine. So I think you must get earlier to bed and have a sleep for about 7 to 8 hours, that will keep you energetic and refreshed. So get to bed by about 9:30 or 10 p.m. and wake up refreshed and energetic after an 8 hour sleep next morning. All wishes to you friend :-)

What time do you go to bed? I know a lot of people with night jobs and they tend to come home and fix a snack for themselves, watch a little tv or do a project such as crochet or knit, read a book. Limit yourself to only an hour of time to let yourself wind down. White noise often helps you get a rested sleep. Get your full 8 hours of rest. When you wake get yourself some sunshine and exercise. Even taking a brisk walk with invigorate you.
