I usually leave the TV on when I lay down, however I use the sleep function on the TV so whenever I lay down the TV will stay on for only a small amount of time and then shut off. It usually gives me enough time to relax enough to almost fall asleep or fall asleep before it shuts off. That way I'm not wasting electricity or anything.

in my house i do not turn on the tv to minimize my electric bill because now a days it is too hard for me to find a money to pay for my electric bills and sometimes i do not turn on some of the electric appliances. But if in the Hotel its ok to turn on the tv and other appliances because we are paying it already.

i think there is a lamp shade allotted for each room in a hotel. try to use that one. never leave the tv on while you're asleep. don't push your luck too much, some tvs will explode due to overheating.

Yup, maybe when I'm alone in a hotel, but not in our house. But I remember being in a hotel alone--all I did was to switch on the light at the comfort room and leave it till morning. But I did not switch on the TV--it disturbs my sleep, really. But of course, that depends because when I was at a hotel in Cebu, I had to switch on the TV until morning....

No never only if I went sleep in while I am watching some film. But these days I am watching films from my Laptop so I setup automatic turn off.For example before I start watching some film at 10 I setup automatic turn off on the laptop on 12 o'clock so if I went sleep while I am watching it doesn't matter because my laptop will turn off automatically.
