some ducks died today need some advice

hey guys, today my school bought two new ducks for our pond, which i thought was really good as i could watch them grow up. but later that day my housemaster asked me to help him clean up a bunck of feathers that were in his garden, i worked out that the feathers belonged to the ducks which at the time were not in the pond. i worked out that my housemasters cat had killed the ducks and i knew about it. could you guys give me some advice on what to do, i think i should just forget about it and pretend it never happened. thanks for reading
