This photo shows a sampling of what I am planting for my garden this year. Red and yellow banana peppers, tomatoes, green beans, yellow beans, cukes, pickling cukes, brocholi, corn etc etc. I started some indoors finally. So what are you plans as far as yoiur garden this year? Any new crops added from what you grew last year? This year we may go with some beets or radishes. I want to add a new veggie this year.

Have you tried pumpkins, my friend. The girl next door grew them last year and they came up great. She gave me a few along with a bag of courgettes she had grown. Either is quite a versatile veg and great for Halloween!!!
Brightest Blessings my friend.

Never grew pinto beans. Never really cared for them either. Radishes grow so quickly too that I can plant seeds every two weeks and have them all spring, summer, fall, and maybe into the wintert. But they get too tall if left unattended and they sag down onto the ground ruining them.

I love the homegrown pinto beans, so much better than the dried pinto beans to me. As for radishes, yes they do grow very fast and I found they need to be picked and eaten before they get too big and soft. They are really good sliced up in a salad.

I have some things planted already some started inside and others starting outdoors today. The tomato plants are on thier way here 16 heirloom plants woohoo!! I am trying out beets and rhubabrb this year and putting in a blackberry patch. We cleared out the boxwoods in the backyard and have so much more room for the garden!! When everything starts to grow I am going to take pics and post them on mylot!! I am very excited about this years garden. I just know it is going to be bigger and better.

It can be a very tiring hard job actually.
Kills my back and legs some days.
But I manage as the rewards are worth it in the end.

At the moment, I have limited space around my house, so I mainly grow perennial flowers, herbs and a couple of pots of patio tomatoes. This year the neighborhood I live in is planning a community garden in a vacant lot. If it actually happens, I'm going to grow some butternut squash. I like that because there is so much you can do with it, and it lasts all winter.

we may add something but right now I am not sure... we dont start ours indoors, we go to the farmers market and buy the plants that have already been started since we have no room anywhere in the house that I could start them and keep them away from the kids...LOL
we always do tomatoes, cukes, green pepper, and we try watermelon every year but it hasnt happened yet...LOL
happy gardening!!

We get some also from a nursery. Usually the grape and
cherry tomatoes as well as some bell peppers. Not too
many though as Ilove growing them from seeds.
Some are grown from the seeds of last years crops as well.

I know your itchin to get out in the grden "Farmer Bob", Thats got a nice ring to it. Another month and a half you can start planting outside. I wish I could start plants inside but my cats would tear tem up, I don't have a good place to start plants and keep them away from the cats. I know I will have tomatoes, cucs, green bell pepper, and bush green beans. I haven't decided on what else to have.

Everything but a small handful is new, for me, this year. We're farming again. After YEARS. We victory gardened, some, while we were stuck in the city...but this year's so much bigger...and it's mostly MY doing, my planning, rather than the rest of my family (specifically my Mother's!).
Various kinds of tomatos, couple kinds of cucumbers, couple kinds of squash, zukes, soybeans, green beans, various kinds of melons, pumpkins, two kinds of corn, eggplant, various kinds of peppers, garden huckleberries, pricky pear catcus, bushel gourds, onions, leeks, assorted herbs, radishes, , chard, edible flowers, par cel, and assorted greens.
I've probably forgotten some things, but yeah xD
The garden huckleberries are the most unfamilar of the whole bunch. But alot of it's unfamilar, which I say, makes for excitign times this year. We already got started, everything that need early starting...has been started, we've started digging for the garden, it's pretty cool.

your garden looks like it grew some great things and saved you some money, i am growing a lot of things this year i just hope they all give me some food, i like the idea that you can grow your own fruit and veggies because you know what goes in them and what dont also it saves you a lot of money. i think its need to watch a sead grow into food you can eat
