I didn't know that you could make candy corn at home so that you can have it at other times of the year instead of just Halloween. I love this stuff and so I was excited to find this recipe and thought some of you might like it as well.
Bring 1 cup sugar, 5 tablespoons salted butter and 2/3 cup corn syrup to a boil. Reduce to medium heat and boil for 5 minutes. Mix 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1/3 cup nonfat powdered milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a large bowl then pour into the pan and allow it to get warm. Divide this into 3 small bowls. Add yellow food coloring to 1 bowl and red to another. Knead until the food coloring is fully absorbed. Roll each bowl of dough into long, thin, rope-like strings then connect all 3 together. Shape into triangles and let sit until hardened.
I hope someone will like this recipe as much as I do.
