I think both men and woman and cook the same no one is better or worse. I think that cooking is still sometimes thought of as "womans work" especialy when you are talking about in the home.
As far as more males being in the resturant business and chef's etc than women because women are still trying to make there mark in every career. Eventhough a man might be the head chef, who are all the sous chefs and people doing the prep work. I bet that there are women in that area of the resturant.

I had never thought about it but your right..there are more men than women in the profession of being a chef. I can't imagine why really. Even in smaller resturants the men are usually hired in as cooks and the women servers. Hmmm....maybe there is more physical labor to working in a resturant kitchen than we realize. Women have no problem with physical labor but it may turn them off the idea for working as a chef more than it would a man. Good question!

Even though both men and women can be excellent at cooking, there still tend to be more male chefs and more female stay-at-home cooks. But if you watch the Food Network on TV, you will notice that there are many successful female chefs. I really admire Iron Chef Cat Cora. She is the only female Iron Chef, but I think that she's just as tough to beat as any of the men on the show. She has a great culinary style and I would love to taste some of her dishes.

The amount of women chefs are far less than men chefs. It's the fact. What I submit here is a catering busines owner experience that I saw on television. To maintain the quality of cuisine, she certainly did not employ a women chef.
This is not related to the ability of a woman in cooking.
According to the caterer, the cuisine of a woman is not stable because it depends on her mood at the time of cooking. When a woman is cooking in a bad mood, the cooking results is not delicious. Results of a man's cuisine is more stable, there is no connection with his mood.
I don't know if there is already any scientific research about this.
