I was wondering whether number of users in mylot and sites like this has any correlation with recession. When times are good people hardly care about the extra buck. But at bad times we all care for that extra bit. So it may be quite natural that during recession more people may be attracted towards mylot. What do you say?

I think there is alot of people on here just for the money,
look at all the repeated topics that are posted some daily just to get participation levels up.
Tho if you join mylot for the money I personally think its the wrong reason to join, mylot is an awesome site and has awesome people on here.
The money is a great bonus, but the discussions and people are awesome.

right no one can earn a lot of money here but it's only that extra bit of savings people look for in tough times.

From my own personal experience I can say that I have less hours at work since the beginning of the year so I am at home more and posting much more here than before.
Not for the money but rather than just be doing nothing or watching the soaps I prefer to be here and if I had more hours at work that would not be possible so it is because of the recession that I am here more.
Tell my boss to let me work more if you want to see less of me here

I think recession may have something to do with it, however, not always as some persons really just need to have more earning power. In this day and age whatever extra we can earn is a blessing.
