http://www.pullapart.com/ im not into junk yards but i decided to go with my brother to check out what was left behind in the new cars they impounded.. as long as you bought one auto part you could get whatever you found non automotive for FREE!! yeah some were gross but some had new stuff in it.. anyways this place was set up really nice and clean.. the cars were in order and organized by maker and the premises were clean etc.. i was really surpised since im used to the junkyards that are disgusting and crowded with cars that have been there forever and have trees growing around or in them.. based on the looks of this place i will go back if i ever need to.. do you go to junk yards? if you had a nice one like would you be more likely?

I have been to one quite a while ago getting parts for my car....and they do have alot of things that can be salvaged....but I haven't been to one where I rooted around through things.

I've never actually been INSIDE a junkyard or whatever... In the past I drove my ex to one because he needed a part for our car, but I waited outside. I wouldn't be opposed to going to a junkyard. Parts there can be far cheaper than buying new parts.

No, but I'm glad you told me about this. I was driving with a friend of mine when a cop discovered something stupid (his plates had expired, and his insurance had expired) and so they impounded his car. I was smart enough to pocket all personal posessions inside the car, so that they would not have been left behind when the car was towed. I did that while he was talking to the cops, and I gave them back to him when we were in the taxi on the way home.

I've been to U-Pull-It yards many times. It's a lot cheaper than buying refurbished or new parts. This is especially true if you have an older vehicle. There's one that I used to go to that had a sign in front of the business, "Remember, all cars run on used parts."
