well it depends on the person if she / he will give up on the situation

If a person truly loves someone they can't help but show it. If your loved you will know it even without them saying so. So if it comes to a point where it is certain that the one you love has fallen out of love with you then you are wasting your precious time with that person. No one should stay with someone just in the hope it can turn around. I would say that is very rare and takes a lot of work. If you become uncertain of where you stand then you should talk it out and find out just where they are. If there is no hope then we should move on. Life is too short to live without love. Of course to do that is very difficult. But it you move on you may very well find the love you have always needed and have not had so it is very well worth it. That happened with me and I can tell you it is very well worth it.
