Today from 8.30 to 9.30 PM, Indian will be expected to turn off their lights..We need to do give just one hour of our life in a year for mother Earth...We are not doing much to mitigate the effects of global warming so it would be great to show that we also can do...........

Whether we should turn off the power or the EB people will automatically do that.In any case,I should turn off our inverter only then I will able to be in the dark for 1 hour.I appreciate this effort and we should take several stringent measures to tackle this crisis. Regards Chris

How can you show that people are sensitive when Electric Boards will decide to turn off...I second your argument that we should need to take stringent measures to stop this looming menace..thanks for your response;

Well!I will turn off the lights,but I don't thing other people in India even know about this or even if they know they won't bother about this.We are in India not in some developed land were people will bother about the Earth.You know what will happen,household women will be watching serials from 8PM - 10PM in any case they won't stop from viewing those programs.Unless Electricity Board turns it off we won't be able to save energy for 1 hour.Itz not that I won't turn it off,I'm talking about the other 1 Billion people.

Let us hope that most of us would have done it but as you said unfortunately, even if I was active on internet, I didn't know about this earth hour. I did get an email but that was too late for me. I get that mail this morning only. I am very dissapointed that I couldn't be among you guys. Well, today I will turn off the lights.

Hi, The Earth Day went well in many parts of the world . People in India ;too also put their lights off. It was not so widespread .However;it did have a major effect .Estimates have come out that a lot of electricity was saved during that time . Hopefully;some of the effect of this Day would spill over and make a major impact in the whole world . Regards

Unfortunately, I came to know about the timing early this morning. Today is 29th. I am planning to switch off lights for one hour today! This 1 hour must have done nothing to improve global warming and all but one little step too many can do the trick.

The time when the earth hour was called , I was out on the roads here in Bangalore.Majority or maybe even more than 85% had not turned their lights off.All knew about this earth hour , even the road sweepers were asking us while we were having a cup of chai .So though some thought it as a good thing to do some thought otherwise.
