How Do You "Dress Up" Your Pancakes?

As well as maple syrup (and it's got to be real Canadian maple syrup) sometimes I like to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and some chocolate sauce and/or some raspberry jam to pancakes. YUMMY! The possibilities are endless as how to fix pancakes. How do you like yours?

I rarely eat pancakes, but when I do it is with quebec's maple syrup of course, we are the world's largest producer of maple syrup, quebec sells 75% of the maple syrup worldwide.

You amaze me with your yummy choices. I have always just used margarine and syrup. I wish I could eat the way you do but all I'd need to do is look at your plate of delicious pancakes and feel a slap on my butt, YEAP another 20 pounds just found a new home. Grrrrrr

Hello Doll
I always have some find of fruit with my pancakes.
The pancakes have to be whole grain with oatmeal
then I like applesauce with a small amount
of Adirondack Mountain maple syrup.
It tastes better knowing that the syrup
is made by my friends.

We are very boring with our pancakes. I make sourdough pancake at least once a week. once in a while I'll put blueberries in some of them. I tried something new that went over OK. I was watching Rachael Ray and she put sausage eggs and cheese in some muffins so I thought why not in pancakes. I thought it turned out goos and the kids thought Well ok. When we have pancakes we always put peanut butter and syrup on them. I sometimes add some butter first.

well..... not really. Not that much. I usually like the regular butter and maple syrup thing. So does everyone in my home.
I like to make drawings on them, if that can be called "dressing it up " LOL. Usually I let it cook on one side and when I turn it, I use my finger or a brush to draw pictures in it with the dough. When I turn it around it will cook but it will always be lighter :) I used to do that when my kids were small - happy faces, animals etc hehehe
As for myself I have a strange taste for pancakes. I like them kind of a bit raw in the middle. If they're too well done, they don't appeal to me that much anymore.
Another thing we really like in here is crepes. Often I use the same mixture as the one for the pancakes but just add more milk until it's thin. The difference is that instead of a plain crepe, or the well known crepe with ice cream and whipping cream, what I do is put some cheese in it while it's still cooking and then fold it like an omelet and let the cheese melt. The kids love it.

we dont use canadian maple syrup but we do use store bought syrup and sometimes jam, but usually we put fruit on top (my hubby and daughter dont like syrup that much (i cant imagine how!) but really, fruit is pretty good on top of pancakes.
(oh have you tried putting chocolate chips on the pancake mix?)

the fanciest i get is some blueberries in the mix,and butter and syrup.
i used to like the chocolate chips, but i worked a short stint at an IHOP pancake house..night after night of the smell got to me.they're better when fresh..and in small doses.

Oh those sound sooo good. Now I want pancakes but I don't have any ice cream or syrup
in the house, but I do have jam and jellies and could come up with something good with
that and with maple syrup, which I also have in the house.
Sometimes I like it with blue berries right in the batter or bananas. My daughter sometimes
makes them with maple syrup in the batter, and less water or milk, so she can eat them
the next day cold. There not too bad but not really something I care to eat.
I also like them with peach slices and maple syrup but however I eat them I have to
have maple syrup to put on them or I won't eat them. Just not as good without maple
syrup.

I don't like pancakes but I do like waffles and when I make them at home I add chocolate chips to the batter and then everyone puts whip cream on top instead of syrup. My husband is really the only one that like syrup and sometimes he'll just use syrup instead of whipcream.

Get a load of this danish! Peanut butter, butter and syrup! I'm serious! It sounds oh so gross but it's really good! I found this out when I was just a kid and my family went from Virginia to Arkansas to see some friends who were in the military and their kids were eating that one morning and my two brothers and I thought "How gross!!" until we tried a bite and we changed out minds! It is really good! lol
